hi there
I have noticed that I have had really bad sinus since I fell pregnant & as the pregnancy progresses - it just gets worse. Mainly pain in my eyes & nasal passages. I often sound blocked up in the mornings - almost as if I'm talking throught my nose alot of the time.. I sound like a dork!
Is anyone else going through this? Some days it just drives me nuts & escalates to a full blown headache from hell as well At night it sometimes makes it hard for me to breathe - I'll sit up & have to take some deep breathes before it settles again.. I might just be stressing out & need to take a chill pill but still it's driving me crazy

This happened to me aswell. I think its normal to be extra mucusy when your preggie but with Addison i got a sinus infection, couldnt even lift my head off the pillow or the room would spin and the pain was terrible. Got some antibiotics and it cleared up but was in bed for a few days and felt like i was dying.
Take care and if it gets really bad i would go to the doctor just to make sure it doesnt get really nasty.

Pregnancy does effect that whole area sadly. it was one of the things I was most worried about when planningn to have a baby as I exist on nasal spray, antihistamines and the odd top up of codral pretty much year round.
Anyway, i amm definitely a lot snottier than normal - lol. And I am waking occasionally with bad sinus, though not as mucha s I thought (I think it is in part because some of mine is food related and I have cut a lot out for the baby).
My doctor did say that alanase was fine to use through pregnancy (in moderation) as the dose is so localised there is minimal chance of stuff getting through to bubs. he also said that the anti histamines were ok, especially if the benefit of taking them was more than any potential risk - if you knwo what I mean!
I reckon you should discuss it with your doc and MW (be aware some MW's are really anti any medication, so you will have to weigh up which one you follow if you have conflicting advice). If taking something now, like a spray, prevents antibiotics a bit further on, then I think it is well worth it.
good luck, I think the most important thing ist hat you don't just grin and bear it, but seek help now so you can get better!

I had this both times I got pregnant. I found tea tre in a bucket of hot water and towel over my head really good and also a nasel spray but I can't remember the name of it. When I had my first there was a tablet you could take while you were pregnant which was great for me but now I see that it has been taken off the market , and I had to suffer till the nasal spray starting working (usually takes a full day from when you start using it.
------------- I was a puree feeder, forward facing, cot sleeping, pram pushing kind of Mum... and my kids survived!

Great to hear there is a few things I can try instead of the usual sorry nothing you can take other than panadol while your pregnant story
I did mention it when I was at my last appointment - I was told - you poor thing! but I'll ask if there is something I can take or do for it then hopefully get a different answer
Thank you all for the tips & advice

yup i get it too - including really bad headaches.
Have found nasal spray and using vicks in steamy sink are helpful. Its usually worse when you lie down!
