For the past 6 days I have had horrible lower back pain. I don't know if I've done something, or it's a pregnancy thing. I'm guessing pregnancy, with the extra weight I'm carrying and mammoth sized boobs!

It's hard to lay down, so I'm tossing and turning all night and waking very early in the morning.

Does anyone have any suggestions as to what to do? Or things to try? I tried a hot water bottle last night, but that did diddly squat!

I seriously feel like an old lady!!!

hehe, I feel like an old lady as well!

I started getting back pain like that at about your stage. Unfortunately mine haunts me. A wheatie bag helps a little. Massage is a good temp fix (with something with lavender oil in it) but if you find a permanent fix to it let me know cause I'm still living with mine! But I've got a bit of pressure on my sciatic nerve so until this bubba is out I don't think anything will really work on me.

It's perfectly normal I'm afraid. Hot baths and lots of pillows helped me. Took ages to get comfy each night (of course then DH complains how difficult it was to get to sleep LMAO!!!)

I have had loads of back pain since about 18-19 weeks, but worse when I am in bed. I have found pillows especially one in between the knees can be helpful. When you bump starts to get in the way I found a lifesaver of a pillow at Baby Factory called a pregnancy wedge. Stuck that under bump and it seemed to (aswell at all the other pillows)take the pressure off my spine. Oh and the wheat bag - brilliant!

Hope you find something that works for you

Yep I had that and it lasted the whole pregnancy on and off until I finally had him out of me. If it gets really bad you can try a smiley belt from your physio department of you hospital, your MW can give you a referral.

If you are in AK there is a place that does pregnancy massage. Jax went there and loved it, you could PM her about it if she doesn't see this thread.

I was a puree feeder, forward facing, cot sleeping, pram pushing kind of Mum... and my kids survived!

I am seeing my chiropractor weekly and it seems to be hellpnig a lot. I have had sciatica since I was 18 after an injury, so I was very aware that pregnancy would just make everything worse. Weekly adjustments seem to keep everything at a manageable level, with the siatic pain not going further than my buttock and the indigestion (it works on that too!) and other pain starting to come back about the day before my next adjustment.

But I know chiro isn't for everyone, I am just pleased it worked so well for me!

Belly bra helped for a while as it helps take the weight of your bump and redistributes the weight and supports your back. I got mine off trade me. I saw an osteopath as well, again not for everyone but it sure helped me
