Was just wondering what it ws that you loved about being a mummy or daddy (for those guys that lurk)

for me...its the smiles upon waking...the cuddles and kisses i get (all be it that they are sloppy)...the feel of there warm bodies after they have just woken.

Watching them try and take their first unaided steps (rhiannon is almost waking)...watching her face when she discovers something new....seeing her face light up when daddy comes home from work

I love being a mum because of the smiles and laughs that they give you and you give them unexpectedly. Also the cuddles and kisses.

Watching them learn and do new stuff.

Also the undeniable and unconditional huge amount of love that goes both ways that will never go away.

cool idea for a thread, Kaz!  I love Ella's giggle... makes my heart swell every time and I can't help but laugh back.  And I love the little 'happy dance' she does when I go to get her out of her cot.  And I love watching her try out making new sounds.

I love how Ella has turned my parents and in-laws into Grandparents - there's a whole new side to them that is lovely to see.

the fact that they know your the one person inthe world that can make everything better, everytime haleigh jsut slightly hurts herself im alwyas the one she comes to for comfort its great.

the fact when we (me and df) walk into the room she races up to us and gives us a huge hug.

when im sad and crying (which happens alot lately darn preggy hormones lol) she comes up and give me cuddles and curls up around bump, makes everything better.

we also love watching ehr learn to do new things even if it is climbing onto the kitchen bench when she shouldnt be up there

I'm not a mum yet, but i am an auntie and the thing i love about it is there are two lovely girls who think I am the greatest for no other reason except that i am their aunt. Now that they are 10 and 5, they are beautiful girls and fantastic to spend time with.
Can't wait to be a mum and provide baby cousins for them.

I love being a mom when I am BF'ding and McKayla looks up at me and have the drug looking face of hers.

I love it when she decides to give me wet sloppy kisses and to come and give me hugs.

I love it when she runs to the study after she switched the channel to something and she wants it back. She runs to me and then have this total innocent look on her face and then takes my hand and leads me to the tv. (BTW she is listening to her DVD music.)

I love to see her being all independent and absolutely insisting on putting on her own shoes and clothes and then eventually coming to me to help her.

I love her snuggling in under the blankets these days in front of the tv at night and making brrrr sounds to say she is cold.

I will be able to go on forever and ever about why I love this girl.

I have one!!

Last friday Andy went out for a boozey night, I was snuggled up in bed by myself and Quinn crawled over me to get in bed with me. Normally I would pop him back in his own bed but didn't bother. He snuggled in close to me and lay his wee head on my pillow, and went to sleep cuddling me. I loved that despite the massive expanse of bed that was available, he wanted to be close to me!! And usually he is a rotter to sleep with - all feet and elbows but we slept snuggly til Andy came home!

(Then it all ended badly, Andy spent twenty minutes chucking up in the toilet and Quinn woke me up saying "that is a funny noise" and then he woke Kaia up and decided we had to get up and play for an hour at four in the morning!)

The cuddles and kisses and "I love you's" you get out of their own umption; the first smiles ever; the joy on their face when they learn something new; knowing you can input these precious kids in a uniquely special and close way.

I love being a mum!

Hmm the insane conversations that I have with the 4 year old that make no sense to anyone but her and I.

The gorgeous giggling smiles I get from both of them when they are excited.

Seeing my son doing so well in Intermediate after there was a worry that he wouldn't settle and is doing extremely well..

Watching my daughter concentrate on writing her name...

Just the little things really....seeing the growing into great friendly kids.

Awww, this is such a sweet thread.

I love the miraculous realisation I get sometimes looking at my kids and thinking 'We made these little people and we are the most important people in the world to them'

I love that Ella will grab my face in her hands so that we're eye to eye and say 'Ella loves you, you love Ella?'
and the huge smile she gets when I tell her of course I do.

I love when Benjy holds his arms up for a cuddle, and only does that for me or Aaron.

Everything everyone has said!!!! I just love being a mum. Will just list a few.

The unconditional love from my kids

The kisses and cuddles and quiet times snuggled up on the couch.

Breastfeeding.

Shopping and hot chocolate days with my girls.

Beauty shop days when I turn the kitchen into a beauty room and do girls nails and facials lol (then they get to do mine).

Walking to the cot and seeing my lil mans BIG SMILE and he puts his arms up...

I could just go on forever lol...

Great thread

No suprises when I say that I don't always enjoy being mother to the Devil Child... but times I do are when

she throws her arm around me in bed and insists on snuggling like that

she tries to count and gets it right

she says "please", "thank you", and "you're welcome" without prompting

we have snuggles in the shower

or when she comes out with some little bizarre story or connection to something that happened a week ago that takes me about ages to figure out! she's so clever and observant sometimes!

Their smell, that unexplainable smell they have (except when they have done something unexplainable in their nappy) where you hold them against you their hair touching the side of your face, whether it's long lanky tangly curls or little tufts of birdy sticky uppy hair, and you breathe them in and get that warm rush of warm fuzzies. I love it, even when you go to tuck them in at night, i still will breathe them in. sadly once they get to about 3, they start to smell of other things, these days it tends to be strawberry detangler, and fairy lipgloss.

The other thing i love about being a mum, is having a great partner, If i get to lie in, or have had an afternoon nap, often i will wake to hear him and the girls, jumping around, playing silly games. I will just lie there and listen to them, or sometimes sit and watch them, and think about how lucky they are to have a wonderful daddy who loves them so much.

the hugs

the crazy things they do, and weird places they get stuck

listening to miss ayja just explode with her language. the other day her an paris were having a quiet dissagreement in the car. I hear miss ayja pipe up from the back seat and say "No paris, that's my book, give me back" and i think wholly crap that's 8 words in a row, in an actual meaningful sentence.

Most of all the way they surprise me each day, and how they know so little and everything is new and wonderful for them. It's great to sit with them and see the world back through the eyes of a child.

Last night Quinn was asleep and I heard him talking, I went in and he was still asleep. He was saying "Quinny loves mummy, Quinny loves daddy and Quinny loves Kaia!" How cute is that?!

I love the fact that Abby will just randomly stop what she is doing and come over and give me a cuddle.

I also love the fact that Jayden was staying at nana's for a couple of nights and missed me last night so we had to go and pick him up (It's so nice to be needed) And then in bed last night comes in and goes "mum can I have a hug".

I also love the fact the I spent 45 minutes in the rain finding Micheal snails for school, and when we went to school the next day with his snails he told his teacher I was the best mum ever.

Basically I just love being a mum the rewards so far out weigh the rough times!

This is soooo nice to read...... makes me want to (in a good way)...

I love the way she watches me no matter what I'm doing then when I look at her she has a HUGE smile on her face and does her funny giggle so I can't help but laugh.

I love the way she pokes me in the eyes, pulls at my lips and grabs my hair... she laughs and laughs when my hair tickles her face.

I love her sooooo much!!!!!!
