Feel free to add you own Rant of the Day!
The gremlins formula is prescription only and I pick it up monthly from the pharmacy (at $160 a month ). I usually go in a day or two beforehand and get them to order it in.
I went in last Saturday (as in 10 days ago) and asked him to order it so I could pick it up at the end of the week. Well, I didn't get there at the end of the week, I went in yesterday to get it and he hadn't even ordered it.
GRRRRRR! It's not like it's a medicine that they can miss one dose of and be OK - it's their sole source of nutrition. So I went off the deep end, and rang my doctor who then rang the pharmacy. Luckily I had a spare tin in the boot of the car for emergencies, but I didn't tell the pharmacist that. He had some lame excuse that it was out of stock with the supplier (even tho I spoke to the supplier earlier in the week about something different) - don't insult my intelligence!
So they rang this morning to say they have the formula in and are going to deliver it to me coz they are sorry for the inconvenience. I told them not to bother, which is silly coz I really should make them deliver it, but I'm sulking so I don't want them doing me any favours.
Rant ended. Congratulations if you're still awake. And as I said, feel free to add your own rant - there's something about other peoples misfortunes that put your own into perspective!

That just sucks! I hope you let them have it. Tyrell has Lactose free formula and not 1 out of the 5 supermarkets I went to stocked it....I rang and we can now buy direct and save $10 per tin!

Thats awesome Amy! $160 a month might sound like a lot but it's actually the same, possibly even cheaper than if they were on standard formula, with the added bonus that I get $300 per year per baby back from Southern Cross under my prescription allowance.
The bugger of it is tho that I can't just buy it over the counter so I have to be prepared if I'm out longer than I anticipated etc. And it's not available in those handy sachets that you can just keep in the nappy bag for emergencies

Emma that really does suck. YOu would think after 6 months the chemist would know you and know that you need it when you say you need it. I might add something today if my mum's flight is delayed from Oz.

I was thinking the same thing Becks - after 6 months you would think they would have figured out how important it was. Thats so annoying Emma. Glad that they have got it in for you now and I totally understand about not wanting them to deliver - I would have been the same

That sux Emma! Its bad anough when you run out and have to dash up to the supermarket to get a tin
Well my rant (not a very exciting one) is that my lovely mother made my blankies for Ashleigh out of nice polarfleece and stitched some tags on (taggy blankie for anyone that has heard of them!!) and posted them on Thursday. Still haven't got them. Its now Tuesday. They should be here by now. Grrrrrr they better not be lost!!!! They are only coming from Auckland to Cambridge so surely it shouldn't take this long although I guess any mail would go through Hamilton first. Ah well hopefully they will be here tomorrow or my poor mum has wasted her time

emma that is not good....am glad to hear you gave them a blast!
can pharmacy direct perhaps do it? have you checked into them at all?
well i dont have any rant today - how unusual?

I hadn't thought of Pharmacy Direct. I've had problems with this pharmacy before but I keep going there coz they are close and the parking means I can leave the girls in the car and just run in coz I can still see the car.
I might check out Pharmacy Direct. But coz it's a restricted product and you have to have a HFA# to get it it's a bit tricky.

Anywho by the time i had arranged times that suited everyone and stuff it was 11pm at night. Looked at the flights and there were heaps avail so didnt worry.
Up at crack of dawn to finish off booking and the flights arnt there. Apparently finished yesterday. Positive i looked and it said 30th april air nz says nope 16th....soooooooooooooooo we arnt going to spend twice as much to fly so now i just have to sit and wait and hope for more cheap fares. booohooooooo

ah bugger...mum did same a few weeks back - get this flights to LA / USA were $499 return...but only one seat per flight and no guarantee we could get bubs on....so missed out! UGH!
OK have a rant now...yep took half a day but...I filed bubs registration with BDM...then got letter (YES THEY wrote telling me to reg her!!!) to say i hadnt - thought the forms and the letter had crossed in mail so left til today to phone BDM as no birth cert has arrived. Well got told by woman on phone that she wasnt registered...HUH? oh no they have found it now...oh ok! But no birth cert - their response (and i got distinct impression this is standard and most people beleive them?) was oh your credit card was declined. WELL i know i have $2000 on that card...and told her so, told her i had been in my accounts on line today and nothing showed of them trying and did i need to contact my bank as sure they would show BDM never tried...welllllllll turn around and suddenly the eftpos at BDM might have been down or something? what the????
so she would do it now...no need for form etc she had all the details...THEN proceeded to ask my name, bubs name, her DOB, my address, my credit card...ummmm dont you have these i asked? apparently NO!!!! they never dealt with it so are restarting my request...
can you say DUMB Ar#E.....some people...man i was ropeable by time i got off...have vented at DH and then thought of Emmas thread....LOL!
oh yeah shall i count the 24 hours she says it will take to get to me....yeah right!!!

Well my rant has an almost funny ending. I went to pick the formula up (and they only had half of it, but that's another story) and they gave me a box of chocolates to say sorry for the inconvenience. I hear you all thinking "what a lovely gesture" BUT - I started Weight Watchers yesterday
It could only happen to me!
And LMAO at BDM Bombshell, when I applied for Maya's passport they trimmed the photo and in the process trimmed the top half of the ID sticker off then sent it back and reckoned that the witness had only put Te Irirangi Marama Davis and missed out her first two names. How could that even possibly happen? My witness was her godmother who was there at the birth - I think she remembers Maya's first name! I threw an Emma-size tanty (I have a habit of that ) and the passport arrived the following day.

Emma - that sucks!! Stupid people in shops saying silly rubbish to justify their mistakes always irks me! Yay for the chocs tho! Hope you have more willpower than I tho, if that had've been me they would've been eaten already and I would have had to hide the box in the bottom of the bin so Andy didn't ask about them!
Maria - That is sooooo frustrating! I do things like that all the time, I am one of these people who has to go away and think for a while before making a decision and have lost many fab oppourtunities cause of it!
And bonbshell - BDM are crap (am I allowed to use such words here). We had heaps of probs sorting out Quinns birthcert too. And it annoys me that they print the address on the back of the cert to avoid the effort involoved in printing it on the envelope?

|
Posted By: Bombshell
Date Posted: 18 April 2007 at 3:05pm
ok so plunket just copped it....unbeleivable - rang the number and got told that it wasnt it and got number to call office BUT before i did the woman told me that they were very busy and i wasnt probably a priority and others were probably waiting longer - oh and my MW might have got contact details wrong cause people move and number change - OMG yeah right in six weeks!!! and this chick didnt even have form etc....!!!
so rang office and got told they were busy and had lots of people waiting and what was DOB...told her and she was trying to work out the age...so told her six weeks!!! dumb #@%@.....then she told me the form - oh look its here - they have it...have not actioned it cause there are a lot of people wanting them, despite a plunket nurse going up my street i told her...ummm apparently yeah some people have more urgent needs...HOW THE *$@% would she know???
BUT GET THIS - she will action it now and get someone to call me cause "now you have rung in so i will do it now"...SOOOO if i hadnt had rung it would still be sitting there....OMG!!!!
I feel surrounded by these idiots!!! i hate dealing with them!!!

ARRRGGH! and to add to all of the below I just had to re-type it all out because my STUPID connection died when I tried to post the first time!!! I give up. I'm going to bed.
I have been reading lots but not posting so much. But today was the last straw and I have to vent!
We had a power outage last night that scrambled our baby monitor and woke up DD (and by default, us) at 1am. It turned out to be a ‘planned outage’ by our power company. How did I find this out? I got a letter from them this morning alerting me to it and saying we should turn off our electrical stuff in case of surges etc. Thanks for that advance notice, power company.
Then DD went down for a nap so I thought I had a chance to check my email and do some work in the short space of time I have while she is asleep. But instead I discover that there are ‘issues’ with the connection from our internet provider. When I call their customer service line I get told they are working on it and it should be up and running by 10am. 10.30am it’s still not working. It’s going for about 10 minutes at 10.40am (enough time for me to receive emails but not to send the replies I write) but DD is also awake. It’s down again next time I try and their message is that there have been delays and try again at 11am. Right. I call their customer line again...and they put me on hold. That was a fun phone call. At 1pm I finally get access, but have lost all will to try and be productive and get some work done. Don't cut off a stay at home mum’s link to the outside world!!
Angry, angry mummy.
Edited to fix angry typing typos and remove supplier names, just in case

WARNING RANT AHEAD!
My rant is a multiple layered one just for the enjoyment of one and all... basically my life is pretty crap at the moment - ooooh feel a long post coming up...
1. I have been living at my mum's for 2 months now and am going crazy!! Peter (dh) is away all through the week and we only se each other at the weekends where all we do is bicker because we are tired and stressed about our living situation and sick of my mum and her partner constantly lecturing us on our lives!
2. Joey is very sick with high temperature and a mouth full of ulcers. He has "slept" in my bed for the past two nights and spent most of that time screaming and (see point 1) I have to deal with it all myself. I have had no sleep for 2 nights, am preggy and still have morning sickness and feel like cr@p.
3. Today is MY BIRTHDAY and I have to spend the day all alone with a screaming Joey (see points 1 & 2). I have no friends here to meet for coffee and even if I did couldn't meet them because Joey is contagious to other young kids. Also no pressies and my mum didn't even ask if we should meet for lunch or coffee or something although she took out my little sister (19) for lunch on Tues just because se was going back up to Uni.
Have spent most of the morning in tears feling sorry for myself and bad for Joey.
I am sure I could add more to my rant like the 6 (!!!!) houses we have tried to buy in Blenheim that have all fallen through or my low blood pressure or my mum telling me that I should be working and being a sahm mum is worthless.... Anyway will sign off now so I have more to complain about another day, heheheheh
Feel a wee bit better now...
