Conor arrived on his due date, and Nyah was only a couple of days late. So sorry I haven't had any feelings that they would be early or late. I have however been having feelings that this one is going to take a bit longer to come into the world and it's going to need some help eg: c-section. Not sure why as both my other two arrived within 4 hours and were big kids (9lb 9oz and (9lb 6oz) so I kind of know how you are feeling... not sure what you can do though...

All my girls have been born within 2 days of their due date. I guess you could say that I "knew" Hannah would be early (she was 2 days early... just) and that Briona and Krystiana wouldn't be more than a week early, but I think it was more to do with what I wanted and was expecting than "knowing". With Briona I was so totally freaked out and wasn't ready for her to think about coming until 38 weeks.

with haleigh i thought i was going to be overdue, but she arrived on my EDD that we worked out from my LMP, 3 days over though according to my scan so they still classed her as being over.
This one i have a feeling of him being early, not sure why i guess its jsut wishful thinking and also hoping it might save me from having another big bub lol

I told my midwife I was having a girl that would be born early right from the start of my pregnancy. She told me right up until the day before I went into labour that baby would probably be late, and what do you know, Maya arrived at 38 weeks....
With the gremlins I had no such ideas, not even a 'feeling' they were twins so that hit me out of left field. I was ready for them to be born from about 30 weeks, but that was mostly coz the OB and midwife expected them to arrive between 32-36. We had to literally drag them out at 37.

I knew Caleb would be early. I had a feeling right from the start he would be born around the 12th and he ended up being born on the 11th. 3 days before his scan date and 10 days before LMP date.

i have been ultra paranoid about going into early labour, mainly because my partners ex had their son at 24 weeks and i saw how horrible the first year was for the both of them.
and i wouldnt want to go through it and he doesnt want to ever go through it again either
and we just had a early labour scare ourselves, ive just spent 3 days in hospital and im now at home on bed rest.
i dont know why im so paranoid as with my daughter the thought never crossed my mind at all, i think because this was a planned pregnancy and were both really looking forward to it its making me anxious.

I knew Kobe would be early, had a feeling and there was just no way I would have been able to hold out another 6 weeks. With Addison it was hard because the situations were so similar I made sure I was ready from a couple of months out but she was quite happy in there till i was induced 2 weeks early.

At about 33 weeks I had this strange feeling for about a week that I was going to go into labour at any minute. Thankfully that feeling stopped and I'm quite happy for him to stay put for a few more weeks as long as he's quite happy to stay in there.
I still think I may go a wee bit early though.

I knew Ben would be late ( like his father always is), yup 10 days after his due date he made a leisurely entrance into the world!!
I heard from my midwife that most people follow what their mothers did, so if your mum was 2 weeks late with you, you will tend to be the same. I was exactly the same as my mum, freaky aye!!

Both my brother and I were born on our due date, so I grew up believing in this wonderful fantasy that all babies are born on the exact date it says they are going to! And if I take after my mother I'll have a few little niggly pains in my back, labour for two hours, give birth without pain relief and then sit and drink tea for the rest of the day..

I want a labour like that renee! Lol!
At the moment I have no feelings about bubs at all. I do hope that s/he arrives on my EDD, which is 2 days earlier than the agreed scan EDD. That would be perfect :)

the 26th is probably LMP dates (last menstrual period) and the 21st would be based on bubs size. I have the 15th for LMP and the 7th for bubs size! lol we are going on LMP as we know it for sure and we also know that bubs is a big boy!!!

catrad, the earlier the scan, the more accurate the dates are. MY personal EDD of the 20th is based on charting and ovulation. My earliest scan gave the 24th, my 12 week scan gave the 22nd, the 20 week scan gace the 18th. My agreed date is the 22nd.
By having the later date than the earlier, means you have longer before they will induce you - that is seen by most as a good thing, as inductions are not particulalry pleasant.

ahh ok i kind of get it.
i was induced with my daughter 2 weeks before she was due, i didnt find the labour that bad although i went into shock after as it all happened so fast ( just over a hour)
i wouldnt be supprised at all if hes big either just as long as hes no where near the 11 pounds that his dad was ( and 30yrs ago they had no way of telling) ouch

With taking after your mother, do you take after what happened when she gave birth to YOU, or her general birthing patterns?
With my sis, she was 2 weeks overdue, my sis was posterior (?) and had to have the forcips. It was an incredibly difficult labour. With me, I was 2 days early (luckily as I was due on my sister's 2nd bday!), labour wasn't as bad but still in the day-and-a-half category. Things to look forward to aye?!

I was saying from the beginning that I thought I would go early. We had a early scan date of 7th May and I always said my EDD of 28 April was correct and the scan date was wrong. Well look who was right - why do they ever doubt us
I went in to labour on the 26th with no reason to, Sam was not even engaged when my waters broke!
I would say to go with your instincts. Your body knows what is going on. I was complaining my butt off the last two days before it started about how I had had enough and just wanted this baby out. Got my wish

That's a difficult question because there are a lot of other factors. The earliest-born of my siblings (what great English lol!) was brought on because Mum was doing letterbox drops and lots of walking. But with each babe she got more overweight and the babes were then born later and later by dates. A couple of them were two weeks late but still had vernix, indicating they were a little "prem". So it seemed that the bigger she was, the more cooking the babies needed or something.
I was born 2 days early, same as my eldest, but Mum was induced with me so who knows?
