We are expecting our 2nd bambino at the end of November and are thinking about finding out the sex. We didn't with Lucy and everyone thought that we were going to have a boy.. and they were wrong.

Have many of you found out or waited for the big suprise at the end??

I'm too impatient to wait.. I wanted to find out the first chance I got, however was disappointed I couldn't get a definite as she had her legs crossed at the time. Found out for sure during the next scan though and was shocked at having a girl as we were convinced we'd have a boy too :)

I'm also far too impatient to wait...not to mention it made preparing a lot easier knowing what we were having. We'll find out next time as well.

Im too impatient to wait!!! we had decided that we would find out this time just as we did with our first son but bubs did NOT want us to know as he always had his legs crossed for 3 scans!!!! so we thought "yeah we can wait till its born" BUT NO!! we couldnt! lol and ended up finding out for sure a few weeks ago that he is definately a boy
For future kids we will still be finding out the suprise for us is seeing the bubs and what he looks like

Yeah that is what I thought... alot easier for next time. Lucy was born in Dec, so if we have another girl, we will have all the seasonal clothes, so good planning in a way, if we find out it's a boy then we will have plenty of time to get bits and pieces together for a boy.

And it is easier shopping gender specific rather than buying all white and lemon (or buying blue then deciding you don't like it on your girl).

We are going to find out - even though its our first and everyone says we should let it be a suprise! We are finding it hard to buy things, as lots of things are very definitley for a boy or for a girl, so thought it would be easier to know.

Also we are both shocking with suprises, neither of us really like them!

I'm really impatient and overly excited too. We didn't find out for our first two but we did last time and I'm sure we'd do that again. Thing is, you will be able to tell if it's a definite or a maybe, so nothing to lose IMO. And so much more exciting and real! I think I liked finding out at the scan better because I was more "with it" lol

We tried with our first two to find out & both times we couldn't, so I would come out of the scan feeling very disappointed. Had a strong feeling with my first it was boy & was right, so didn't feel like a surprise, then with our 2nd thought it was another boy & got a huge surprise to see we'd had a girl. It was awesome at the end of a long labour to have that surprise & I find telling people a lot more exciting. Have decided NOT to find out the sex of this baby, although have a stong feeling its a girl - though could be wrong.

I really just like having the surprise at the end, & once the baby is born EVERYONE buys you clothes in either blue or pink so only need a few unisex to start with.

i found out, i'm so impatient there was no way i was going to last 9 months not knowing. it did sort of take something away from the moment when he was born though, the obstetrician held him up and said "it's a beautiful little boy!", i was like "yeah i know" lol.

We didn't find out what we were having when I was pregnant with James. My DP wanted to find out but I didn't since we couldn't agree we didn't find out. Another reason I didn't want to find is in case they got it wrong as it has happened to a couple of my friends. I kind of knew he was a boy the whole time I was pregnant and when we went shopping I would pay more attention to the boys stuff compared to the girls.

Like Italiah said people go out and buy you heaps of stuff once you have had the baby and we also put money aside for once we found out what sex the baby was.

Good luck on your decision.

Like Danni, DH wanted to find out but I didnt so we didnt find out with Caleb, we thought he was a girl which was completely off base, but only bought neutral clothing that we can use for number 2 whatever they are.

I did have to make a deal with him though that since we werent finding out the first time, we would next time, I suppose at least next time we will know whether we need a whole new set of clothing or can use the boy stuff we have.

I wanted to find out. (due to previous mc's) and I thought I will be able to bond better with my baby instead of thinking will this one make it...

Grant initially didnt wanted to find out. My dad knew with all his kids so could understand why I wanted too. Grant's whole family thought it was "weird" that I wanted to find out. At the first scan, Grant said it was a girl. As if he could tell from a 2mm little spot.

We did find out the sex and he wanted to know as well and it was confirmed with every scan after that. (I had a scan with every visit)

Next time I am finding out as well. Didnt take anything away from me as I was totally knocked out anyway.

We didn't find out, but I was convinced I was having a girl and although I only looked at girls clothes, we just bought a few white/cream things. Plus I only ever wanted to wear PINK ... I decided that was a 'give away' too

I really really wanted to know,..DH wasnt sure if he wanted to or not,..right up to the scan,..then he decided he wanted to know to! Lucky it was obvious Isla was a girl,..would have been dissapointed if we couldnt see. We told everyone she was a girl, but picked her name out months before she was born and kept it secret.

I found out with all three, I just don't do surprises (as if finding out my 'gremlin' was actually 'gremlinS' wasn't surprise enough).

I kind of have this romantic ideal that I wouldn't find out next time round and have a suprise, but I know curiosity will get the better of me, plus if I get anywhere near as sick as I did with all of the girls I'll NEED to know so I have something positive to focus on when I'm throwing up every morning

And yes, I did say "when" not "if" but it's a very long time away and Willie is yet to be convinced!

I am not finding out and that is a big call for me as I like to know everything. people are very opinionated about this and we decided for ourselves and not to keep all the old croneys happy (although they believe we were influenced by them). I wanted to see if I got a maternal instinct feeling about the baby once it started moving....i havent. At the start I was 100% convinced it was a boy....now both DF and I are thinking maybe a girl? who knows. I want it healthy and preferably not ugly

I found out with all three... I just wanted to know! Nat wanted to know with Josiah, and ummed a little with Xavier before deciding (the day before the scan!) that he wanted to know... We actually both were right before finding out, making me 3 from 3 and Nat 2 from 2. Next time, well, who knows? I don't regret finding out (neither does Nat, actually) but I know he's quite keen on the surprise idea. We'll just have to see what happens.

Oh, and OT but Emma, you are a shocker! What were you saying about "3's enough" and "never want to be pregnant again"? Hmmm?

We didn't with Jake, and only found out with Charly at 32 weeks to tell my dying dad. I didn't want to know, but turned out I was the only one who could make the short notice scan! lol! and I wouldn't have been able to keep the envelope sealed if I got the sonographer to write it down for dad, plus I couldn't have stood them knowing but not me. We didn't tell anyone else though. Personally I don't like knowing what other people are having, it ruins the surprise for me. You could say I am very much a don't unwrap this before christmas type of gal!

I've found out, it makes it easier to buy all the right coloured stuff because I didn't like having only whites/yellows/greens. I wanted to buy blue and pink stuff.. also it helped because we wanted to paint the room.

With Andrew we couldn't as every scan I had he wouldn't cooperate. I went out buying blues, whites, greens and reds and hoping like hell I was having a boy. We could of found out 4 days before I had him but I was far too angry with my OB to hear what he had to say. With Josh I knew he was a boy I just wanted it confirmed so that I could but Huggies for a boy or girl. When (like Emma it's now a when not an IF) I have the 3rd I would like to find out again cos if its a girl I will have a field day shopping.

We found out only cause we wanted to. No other reason really. I'd been saying since around 8 weeks that I knew what we were having, I really only needed the scan to confirm my thoughts. I was right again...it does make shopping and planning so much easier.

first time round we found out what we were having. i wasn't surprised as i knew he was a boy for the simple fact everyone we knew had girls and i wanted a girl.
we left it as a surprise with charli as we figured if it was a boy, we had everything anyway, and if it was a girl, we could go on a huge shopping spree.
