Hi guys,
Pregnancy symptoms are starting to appear along with acid reflux/heart burn(presume they are the same thing?). Just wondering what I can take that is safe.
Thanks in advance!

I just asked the same question in another forum.  I had it in the first 12 weeks, and its now reared it's ugly head again!  I'm sure you're pleased to hear that!  I'm not sure what is safe to take, but I'd be interested to know.  Particularly today.  Good god it's evil!  How babies deal with it, I do not know!

I have had the chewy quickeze and the chalky ones and both work fine. Mylanta, Gaviscon and Quickeze are all safe to take, just depends on what you can stomach. I can't do the drinking ones, they make me sick.

This sounds strange - but my m/w suggested it and it seems to work....whenever I get it (which is fairly often) I munch on a handful of raw almonds.

The 'fix' doesnt last that long, but it seems to give immediate relief.....worth a try maybe!

Just make sure that if you are munching on quickeeze, gaviscon or mylanta that you are drinking PLENTY of water and you may want to give them a miss already if you have kidney stones or other kidney issues. Other than that - yep, antacids are the way to go. My doctor ended up prescribing Losec.

Oh and I'm not allowed to take antacids at the same time as my iron tablets. But I usually only get it bad at night, so way after I've had my pills.

Titralac is really good. You can buy it from the pharmacy. You 150 chewable tabs for $12 and they are a minty flavour. I lived on them when preg with Alize
