What time is it? Lunch? Afternoon tea?

Also I think we've covered similar topics on here so a search would give you a good head-start

cheerios with sauce (my fave ), sausage rolls, club sandwiches if you want to do something fancy, marshmallows, cheerios/biguns (far better than chippies because they don't have sharp bits for choking on), muffins, cheese & pineapple on toothpicks (adults only), and CAKE!

I try to think of at least one savoury per sweet as a general rule. An all-time easy savoury is carrots and celery sticks with dip.

You could do some fruit kebabs, kids would be able to have them too??  I have a party book, but it is on loan at the moment, bugger cause I would have emailed you some idea!!! - ummmm, fairy bread (haha) mini pizza's.  If you buy a slab then you could use a biscuit cutter to cut shapes out of???    Good Luck

Erin had her 1st birthday two weeks ago and we had a lunch time bbq.

The kids had home made sausage rolls, (hot dogs rolled in puff pastry and baked in over for 15 mins)  We had mini club sammies. with ham, cheese on, home made pizza's ,  cupcakes which the kids got to decorate just for a bit of messy fun.

we served veges sticks and rice crackers with hummus dip, beetroot dip (called it barbie dip and fooled them all) looks pretty to.  tin of drained beetroot and half cup plain yoghurt and blend in processor. and i also made mini hamburger patties which the "boys' barbequed.  i also used little cookie cutters and cut shapes out of slices of cheese.  all mainly finger foods for the littlies  erin munched on a sausage and not much else as she was too busy crawling around everyone and playing out side.

The other idea is to have the children decorate the birthday cake,  you pour on icing and provide sprinkles, lollies, licorice, pieces of fruit etc , the kids love this sort of thing.

We just provided a bit of steak, sausages and salad for the adults.

Good Luck.  If want recipes or more ideas Pm me, i'll be happy to help
