What does it mean? People seem to 'have shows' before they go into labour, or during, but I don't know what they mean by it.

Its a mucous (spl?) plug that comes away from ______?? (I'm not exactly sure)

I had a show at 9am and then Brenna was born at 9pm. People can have a show up to 2 weeks before their baby is born. Others have no show before going into labour. Mine was clear with a few streaks of blood (sorry if TMI)

Yes they seem to come in a range of pretty colours It's vert thick and is a good sign things are on the way. When I was pg with #1 I thought having a show was waters breaking

It is a mucus plus that is in the cervix keeping the waters (amniotic fuild) in the womb. Mine was thick and gluggy and yuk, came out in a few seperate chunks during the beginning of labour.

i had one 5 days before having paris, and i didn't notice if i had one with Ayja, can be blood stained or sometimes look a bit like the consistency of snot.

lol kinda like the plug in the bath.. keeps everything in. PMSL. usually comes away once the cervix starts to dilate and thin as the cervix isn't keeping it in anymore.. hence why some people get it a few days before as their cervix starts to thin and others don't get it till they are in labour dependant on how fast and to what degree they dilate and efface i spose.

He he i had no idea either till i went to antenatal classes for #1 miss paris.. i was like "show? what's that?"

It doesn't all come away at once either I started having some come away at 35 weeks and Jack wasn't born until 40 weeks. I would just have a bit more every couple of days and in the last week more and more came away. I was 2-3cm dilated and fully effaced a couple of days before I went into labour as well.
