Haven't I been a good Ginger? Always cheerful and patient and every other blimming thing? Well ...sometimes anyway

Do I or do I not dance around in circles when someone announces their pg and try to celebrate their happiness with them? It doesn't matter whether it's hysteria induced dancing, what matters is the dancing!

Do I torture small children? (In case you're wondering, no, I don't!)

Do I not try my absolute hardest to recycle, reuse and re-everything else that's good for the environment? (Yes)

So why the hell, when I'm trying so hard to save for IVF, does everything keep going wrong?

The car broke, then yesterday something went horribly wrong with the toilet (apart from DH ) and today he phones me to say that our letterbox has broken (broken as in we need a new one ...apparently it's all rusted out and fallen apart in several directions or something)! Our letterbox!! I mean, honestly!

That's on top of the letter I got from IRD the other day saying I owe money on my student loan (it beats me how, since I pay money every month on my salary in compulsary deductions aside from anything else), and of course DH's merino t-shirt which he wears every night to work over his usual t-shirt to keep him warm (he only has one merino tee too!) shrinking in the wash (goodness knows how!), and all the usual annual insurance etc letters coming in to say that all our payments are going up.

Why is it that these things always happen when you are trying to make sure that every last cent goes in the bank? Wouldn't it be nice if money grew on trees?

Still, I've been good with shopping! There is a dress that I really want for my brother's wedding next year, and have been lusting after. I saw it in person, and I've been stalking the online store as well - I loooved it, but they didn't have my size. There were only 15 made, and the only size left is a size 8! But, I went in to try it on anyway so that we could put me on a waiting list in case they remake it in a different fabric (unlikely apparently), and get an idea what size I'd need if they did remake it (the fabric it's in at the moment is a really heavy fabric, not much good for a summer wedding). So, I skeptically went in and tried on the dress ...............and it fit like a dream. I couldn't believe it. It looked like it'd been tailored to me, it was such a perfect fit. Plus, it made me look slim! Very much an illusion, becuase I'm a pear, but still. But oh! How I love that dress. I didn't want to take it off. But, you know what I did? I did take it off, and I handed it back

Very well behaved Ginger.

Plus, I stuck to my grocery budget last week, and I've cut back on my coffees too, AND we'll be moving to Papakura soon so I'll be able to save money on petrol as well.

So I suppose it's not all bad. I'm just being a grouch

Fair enough to be a grouch, too!  I hate it when money stuff all happens at once.  And you're right - you are always kind to others about celebrating their successes... well, on here anyway!  Hope things only get better!

AWWW thats sucky chick & you have every right to be grouchy i would too (and not just cause of the preggy hormones) but at least youve had your 3 (or maybe more) things so it should get better from here. Maybe the jist with the dress is that you will be pregnant by the time it comes to your brothers wedding???? Do you not qualify for the two rounds (i think dont quote me) of free IVF?

I had to share ...

I got home from work this afternoon to find that DH had built me a new wooden letterbox

The best thing? He built quite a big one, which will easily fit say a box, or a large package ...the type of package that a Ginger gets delivered a lot by courier when she's been shopping online ... ahem ...

He even measured it up off one of the last boxes that I had delivered, so he knew it'd be about the right size!

And, he fixed the loo. Apparently what went wrong was that something broke in the somethingorother and it was spraying water somewhere else which was affecting some other bit, and so it wasn't working. Makes perfect sense to me!

I think the stuff all going wrong is a bit like when your skin care runs out ...it's not just your face wash, but your toner, moisturiser and foundation, all in one go!

Perhaps it's just training for when the IVF works and we have a baby ...lots and lots of unexpected expenses will come then too I bet!
