Is ricotta on the 'banned' list? I'm not sure whether it counts as a soft cheese or not.

I'd eat it!

I think ricotta is fine as it's in a sealed package. Infact I would eat any cheese, soft or not as all cheeses in NZ are required by law to be pasteurized. I've eaten Brie, Camembert, allsorts.

But in the end it comes down to how you feel about things. So if you don't feel comfortable about eating something, don't eat it.

But I am pretty sure Ricotta is on the safe list.
