Subject: A little update from me!
Date Posted: 14 May 2007 at 8:46pm
Well after having a scan last thursday to confirm that my little munchkin was breech, I have been waiting for a referral to the foetal monitoring unit at Waikato Hospital. Midwife said they would call Friday. They didn't.

I saw my midwife today at my house as she wanted to check my BP. She told me that the referral would be soon as A) I am 10 days from my due date and footling breech babies are supposed to come out between 38-39 weeks and B) My BP is high so I am a priority case.

Well they didn't call today or tonight like she said they will, so I guess it will be tomorrow that they make an appointment for me to be assessed.

She said I would probably be having my c-section on either Friday or Monday!

I'm not keen on Monday as it's MILs birthday. I know if that's the date they give me then well that's the date they give me, but I won't be very impressed!

Getting a few niggly pains tonight. Am geting very impatient and annoyed that nothing is being done.

I know it's not long to go now, but still! I don't want to go into labour as it's dangerous for me to and I feel the closer I go to my due date, the more likely it is that my waters will break or I'll start having contractions!

So, just in case you were wondering when the next OHbaby will be delivered, I think it will be me, but it might be just a little bit longer!

Will let you all know when I have a confirmed delivery date

hey there, that is very slack that they have not got around to it. I woudl ring and ask them, it may be that they have forgotten.. or have not rung and confirmed etc.. so give em a ring and if they haven't already done it it should get them to hurry up!!

I'm definitely going to ring them tomorrow at lunchtime if they haven't called me. My midwife said it's not likely that I will go into labour but then again she doesn't know that for a fact and plenty of babies come 10 days early!

If that is the case I have to call an ambulance.

ohh, I hope that they call you!! and I hope that there is absolutely no need for you to call an ambulance! Keep us informed! We are all thinking of ya!

No

I just called my midwife (although I can NEVER get hold of her) and left a message on her answerphone

I guess I just have to wait a bit longer. I was hoping to be having this baby this week, as she said 39 weeks for breech births, but then yesterday she said next week. So I'll be 40 weeks then!

I have my 39 week appointment with her tomorrow so will have to ask her again what's going on!

Grr, I just posted that message and the phone rang.

My appointment at the hospital is at 9am tomorrow morning! YAY!

So I could be having a baby this week after all!

Renee .. hope your appointment goes well tomorrow. We'll all be waiting to hear your delivery date :)

The hospital seems chaotic and the clinic totally disorganised, but I have to say, in my experience, the delivery & ward staff were all marvellous.

Well, I've had my appointment.

Baby Sam will be evicted from his nice warm home on Tuesday the 22nd of May. Managed to miss MILs birthday by one day WOOO!.

I was hoping it would be sooner as I really don't want to go into labour, but he's more comfortable head up and I'm more comfortable with him head up so he will stay put till Tuesday!

Does that make him a Taurus or a Gemini?

Posted By: BaAsKa

YAY! he'll be a gemini

I'm glad you were able to get Tuesday. Your chances of going into labour before then, IMO, are low (but not impossible) because of his position. How exciting!!

Oh that's AWESOME, Renee!  Horray for the Tuesday appointment!  All the best for wee Sam's arrival, and I hope you have a really lovely weekend between then and now.  Got any plans?  It's your last baby-free weekend.   Hmmmm..... can I recommend a dinner out?  Or at least a trip to a great cafe?

Thank you everyone for your well wishes!

I've got two OHbaby ladies cellphone numbers to text when I've had him so you'll all know how big he is! I'm taking bets for over 10lbs.

I think this weekend will be a very relaxed one unless I get the cleaning bug again. Mopped all my floors and cleaned the bathroom top to bottom at 10pm last night. I could NOT stop thinking about the dust bunnies under my bathtub, as it's got claw feet and we've got wooden floors in there, everytime I sat on the toilet (every five bloody minutes) I could see all this dust. It's gone now though!

Oh and I'm going to attempt to walk around the parents and childrens expo at The claudelands showgrounds with my mum. Hopefully they will see that I am VERY pregnant and would love to receive endless amounts of freebies/samples.

Oh and thanks to busymum for putting my mind at ease about going into labour. I was getting a bit worried but what you said made a lot of sense (his positioning means it's unlikely I will start contracting or my waters will break) But then again nothing is ever guaranteed and if you don't see me posting here over the weekend, I've gone to the hospital!

Does anyone know what it feels like to have knees and feet repeatedly jabbing you in the cervix? It's not pain, but boy do I cringe when he does that!

Hard to believe that I'll be a mum in less than a week! I have so much more confidence in myself as a mum-to-be and I feel as though 'I can really do this' now. I can honestly say that it is because of all the lovely ladies on this website that are so giving, caring, non judgemental and forthcoming with such valuable advice, that I will be able to raise a happy, healthy child.

So, thanks again everyone!

AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

TWO DAYS! Less actually, cause today is nearly over and I have to be there really early Tuesday.

I will be ok, I will be ok, I will be ok..

I'm still half expecting my waters to break or something now, but I'm running out of time for that.

Try not to worry Renee, i am sure it will be fine and it seems like Sam is pretty comfy in there, even if it not so comfy for his mum.

Just think about finally being able to hold Sam in your arms and no knees in your cervix

Yay for no knees! Although it's not really as uncomfortable as it sounds. I prefer it to his head down there!
