i used them with xanthe, and didnt really have any problems with them. yes she had a big butt. yes i had to change her more often. yes they sometimes leaked. but i didnt know any better and at the time it was fine. wasnt till i started using my fitted cloth nappies with jordis that i realised that the squares were really bad at giving xanthe nappy rash - we have not had a single rash here yet, TOUCH WOOD, and thats all i can put it down to. so just make sure you give lots of bum time at each nappy change.

what covers do you use? in the end with x i stopped using pins, and just tucked the ends under, and trusted that the covers would do the job of holding the nappy on.

I started out using those with rhiannon and only changed to mcns about 5mths ago i think...in fact my mum still uses them when she has rhiannon over night...and when i need to strip my mcns i go back to the old fashion cloth.

i have never had any problems with them...and cos rhi was small, never had to use pins or anything...just an overnap....sure i had to change you a bit more...but hey thats the breaks

I use them as well as sposies at night and going out. J in sposies when he goes to daycare. I use Bummis wraps, I find them good for keeping dry! Am thinking about getting fuzzis for Jake for night time as he is a really heavy night time wetter, and only huggies keep him dry and they are dear!

I use them sometimes when I'm behind in the washing or feeling nostalgic Also handy as stuffers for the pockets.

I used them on and off with Ella, and use them as stuffers or with a wrap now with Ben.
I've also found them very handy for catching spills

I used to use them with Hannah, from when she was about 10mos... but I absolutely hated using them! So did DH, he was rather paranoid about pin-stabs I didn't know about MCN until after then, when I got involved on here (Nikkiwhyte was talking about MCN but I thought she was raving about the horrible flats lol), then when a friend of mine organised a FB demo, I was right into it. By that time I had completely thrown in the flats and was back to sposies, but by that stage Briona was 13 months lol.

My SIL uses flats though, I don't have the patience but her bubba is 10mos now so I think that's pretty amazing!

I use them to stuff my pockets. I wouldn't mind using them on Noah as a proper nappy during the day sometimes but I don't know how to fold them properly I get confused by those websites with the instructions too.

I use them to stuff pockets at night sometimes... and for mopping up accidents on the carpet , used to use them under me on the bed when I was breast feeding for leakage (gosh I forgot how horrible it was sleeping in a pool of milk for the first 6 months of Hannah's life!), and as primitive clothing in the early days when i couldn't bring myself to get dressed and someone turned up unexpectedly

But no, don't use them directly on Hanny's butt.

Oooo... they also make OK capes when playing superman

Fold a flat in half, wrap it over front and tuck into bra.

Or alternatively, hold in place if you have no bra to tuck in to.

Far from decent, but enough to get you through a conversation with a stranger without dying of embarrassment.

P.S. I did always wear pants Annie. I'm not THAT much of a rudie.

LOL Nikki....!!!!

good to hear some do use them tho...

we use them during day mostly as Ella hates a wet butt and found she woke more in night if she was wet in a cloth than in disposable.

We use snappies..i HATE pins too Theresa.

COvers - we use ones from t and t and some similar ones from target....def the best ones...and they dry so easily if need be....they are valcro in front.

was just curious....

I use the envelope fold, and I find it super good for holding in explosions. What kind of fold do you use? I've got terry flats, and can't use snappi on them, so have to use pins... makes me nervous!

I started out with flannel flats and horrid covers from Farmers! I found them fine with a newborn during the day cos you are changing them so much anyway, but I didnt like that they felt damp. You could always put a stay dry liner in them so it is dry next to the skin, or you a stay dry booster type thing (a few layers of absorbancy to boost you flats, but with a fleece layer sewn on top). I have had a lot of people buy these boosters who use flats and they love them. I have also found a lot of people stop using flats when their baby starts moving more - theres a challenge for you Bombshell!!

I used flannel flats with pins and PVC pilchers with Maya from about 6 weeks until she TTed at 22 months. I used them when we were up north last weekend as it was easier/more compact than taking MCN's, and I can't for the life of me understand how I managed to get them on Maya while she was wriggling and rolling and squirmin coz the gremlins were a nightmare to try and pin down

I love the way they look so, so nostalgic

i think we will probably only use them til i am back at work fulltime and she is in care....im not sure mostdaycares can be bothered with them!

i think we also use the nevelope fold...one mum taught me so didnt learn off a website LOL! didnt hold the explosion last week but does a good job normally!

I fold them so fluffy side in cause otherwise the snappis dont clip on properly

Maya's daycare was good with cloth, I just sent along a lidded bucket and they'd line it with a plastic bag and I'd grab the bag out at the end of the day.

Mind you the odd time that I forgot them it was pretty stinky the next day

mine are fluffy both sides, like towels, so hense non use of snappi. thats why they are super super asbsorbent. Ihave the other ones, too, and use them fluffy side in as well. Some one gave me some muslin liners as well, but I don't use them, as I have enough washing!! THe only thing I really hate, is they stretch clothes...
Just "won" a pair of fuzzis off Jack and Charli's mum, so will "save" then for good clothes days...
