Hey everyone

Two things!

First, as you know, I'm doing a colum for OB. I have a number of topics up my sleeve, but I thought I'd ask if there was anything that any of you would specifically like me to write about?

Now, here's the other thing.

My colum is centering on pregnancy planning, since I've done a sh*te load of it, and know a fair bit about it. But, my view/experience is that of someone who is married and financially secure, and who has been able to plan as opposed to finding out about a surprise pregnancy under less than ideal circumstances.

Would any of you be willing to share your stories, where you've had a surprise and had to come to grips with a pg ...and tell me a bit about what you did, how you coped, and how you planned? You can PM me privately if you want, or just post.

I'm thinking, you might have been single, or in a rocky relationship, under financial stress/in debt, not wanting a child, really young, perhaps older than you'd have liked to be having a baby ...that sort of thing.

I'd really like to gain an understanding of this perspective, and be able to put a colum together about it, so if any of you are willing to talk to me about what you went through, that'd be fab!!

Thanks for reading this!!

When I've got a few spare minutes, I'll post about finding out Kiya was on the way...

Short story: just turned 20, found out I was pregnant at what turned out to be about 18 weeks, bio dad didn't want a "girlfriend who was pregnant or a single mum".

In answer to your first question, I would love to hear about older mums and over 35s TTC.
As I will be in this group when we start to TTC and eventually become a mum.
Especially first time mums.

Teehee, the spelling police are alive and well then!

I wrote a story about Maya's rather unplanned arrival for a lady who's ptting together a book on unplanned pregnancy. Your post reminded me I haven't heard from her in a while, so must get back in touch and see how it's coming along.

I'm interested to see you go thru the IVF process. I mean, I hate that you have to go thru it, but I've always wondered how it all works. Call me nosy

Nikki and mum2paris - that sounds great, thank you! (and yes Nikki, make sure that essay is finished. In fact, send me the finished essay as proof with the story! )

Most of the PMs I've had today have left me reeling. I just cannot comprehend the strength that many of you have had to find to raise your gorgeous babies and to get from day to day to week to month. I really do take my hat off to you.

Also, I just wanted to say that whatever I write about any of you will be anonymous (I won't tell readers who you are, or who experienced a particular thing), and if I use part of your story I will email you the relevant bit for you to make sure you're happy with what I've written. This thing is going to be a couple of months in the making I think, so you'll hear from me on and off over the time I imagine.

I want to do this because it's all very well to look at pg planning and TTC from an ideal perspective, and desperately wanting it, but there are a lot of woman out there who see that BFP and their world crashes down around them, but they still pick themselves up and face what's coming, however that plays out, head on. I really want to do all those women justice.

Thanks to those of you who have PMed me, and for those of you that are going to. I really appreciate it. I have to say too that I feel a little ashamed of myself and my on/off whinging when I read what some of you have been through ...

Thanks again

Oh, and I'm trying to keep my inbox clear, but perhaps make sure you have a copy of your stories if they're long, in case I jam up overnight!!

You can have my number 2 baby if you want. That was a big surprise baby that was totally unexpected as I had made my plans to go back to uni full time. I'll write it up for you and PM it to you at some stage hopefully tonight.

A can of worms? As in, one can? How about a pallet of cans of worms?

Sorry I've been quiet today ...it took me all blimming morning to read Nikki's PM!

Just kidding.

Sort of.

You're going to have to wait a good month or so, but I'll get there ... I just hope I get it right!

Oh, and I have a word limit, in case you're wondering ...at the moment, I think it'll be a two-parter! Part one, and then Nikki's story

I really should stop harrassing Nikki ...she'll me!

No, seriously, thank you everyone! I'll have a bit to do this weekend!!
