You all remember the Snazzi auction that was done to raise funds for Aria MacDonald?

Well Aria will be on Close Up 7.00 pm Channel One tonight.

It will be the lovely Aria's story about her and her family's journey to bowel transplant and a chance to eat, for those who haven't heard.

It will be on the net in a couple of days if you miss it.

ooh darn i think imay have missed it possibly. but what she has - is what my nephew has.. only he has partial hershbungs.. meaning he can eat but once the food gets to his large intestines it stops.. he has been on high doses of laxitives since 4 weeks old. he's booked for surgery this year too to have the part of the bowel that has no nerves etc taken out.. the rest stitched to back to his bottom.. they're hoping that it isn't too much otherwise may have to have colostomy.   hhm would be interesting to watch.

I stayed and was late for belly dancing so I could watch it. I hope it generates support and funding for wee Aria.

As an aside, OHbaby! donated a nappy to the Snazzipants opening auction that was to raise money for Aria

Bump. For those who have followed Aria's journey I thought you might like to know there is another fundraiser currently going. Aria is in the US awaiting transplant, they have gone through some rocky days recently but she seems to be better for the moment (touch wood).

Anyway if you haven't read her story then you can check out the website Paws linked to above, or there was a recent story in the Dominion Post which you can read on http://www.stuff.co.nz/dominion-post/local/3178225/Chance-to-taste-normal-life-for-girl-who-can-t-eat/ - stuff.co.nz .

For the current fundraiser, a professional photographer is spending a day taking photos (you can even make suggestions of where she will shoot on the http://www.facebook.com/pages/Artscapes-for-Aria/175250833698 - Facebook page ) and for a $10 donation you will receive a digital version of one of the photos (like a lucky dip only the limited edition version!). Could make a great gift idea I think. It's all explained properly on the http://www.wix.com/pukekopossum/Artscapes-for-Aria - official website so please do go and check it out - I think $10 is something very manageable for most of us and it really is a good cause.

(Like you Janine I have a nephew with partial Hirschsprung's, had to have pull through surgery and a colostomy etc too, which is why I feel touched by Aria's story. We have just found out DH's cousin's little boy has it too - it's obviously genetic through my MIL's side of the family - fingers crossed we dodge that bullet.)
