Okay i am ready... had an ob appointment today and after two turnings the baby has stayed head down, butt up. the bassinet is ready, all the linen and clothes washed, the car seat is here and waiting and i have packed a bag for me and baby, have even brought cashews for hubby while i am in labour. have shaved my legs, brought nappies, breast pads and a maternity bra... NOW all i need is the baby.

Hurry up baby.....

I was just thinking the same thing....
I am too lazy to shave them now, imagine what will happen later. But some thing to note in your "to do before labour list".

lol, I hope baby does hurry up before the stubble comes Very impressive, I was just wondering this morning how much longer I would even be able to bend down and DRY my legs let alone shave them as it is getting increasingly difficult!!!

I can't remember whether I shaved my legs or not, but I doubt it! I do know that i had two days at home in labour before I went to the hospital and I would have a bath then put on clean jamies, then have another bath, then more clean jamies. I went to the supermarket in my pyjamas to buy hot cross buns coz I was craving (andhad to stop every few minutes for a contraction. My advice - don't drive when you're in labour I eventualy went to the hospital in my pyjamas!

Due date is tomorrow, here's hoping Baby #2 isn't a procrastinator like his big brother was!

shaving of legs wasnt too hard - have a wet/dry electric for the shower, so just ran it up and down, of course as to what kind of job i did i dont know... and am pretty sure emma that this one wont be on time either, mind you i have been getting some pains in my tummy, and am still worried i wont know when labour has started...

Yep - I can't beleive some people that don't know - I went quick with Ayja, I wasn't sure at first cos it wasn't painful etc.. but then Wham, it was full on and that was it. I think the first time you think about all that stuff.. like "what if my water breaks in public??!!" Second time you are aware of what last time was like, and worry about it being completely different.

nothing here yet - had a mw visit on tues, baby still head down but not READY, she did a sweep, but nothing came of that... have been scheduled for induction on July 7. will be one day short of two weeks then. i guess i am just not destined to go into labour naturally cause was induced with my first too. i can only hope this time is as easy as that one was cause we started about 8.30 am and he was born 11pm that day.

argh - deb, i had that happen only a couple of days before i went into labour - even had mum come round at 2 am, she got here, and contractions slowed down and stopped - felt really silly and really cheated when i woke the next morning with no baby. lol.

don't worry, now you're all prepared, next time it happens it'll be the real thing... hopefully it was just your body's way of getting you all psyched up for labour.
i don't think you will have to be induced.. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you.

Yep Deb, I can't remember feeling that way first time either - I think with the first pregnancy you are just so wrapped up in it all.. and excited and nervous.. second time round the charm goes a little - especially when you have another little one.. towards the end, all it meant was i was big and i couldn't lift or carry Paris..and i was just tired and things were just so much harder.. so yep - you want it out already! You are fully justified in feeling that way. lol

wow, 11 pounds, I cannot imagine having a new baby that big. Ayja is nearly 9 pound now, and i look at her and think "stuff having a new born this big, ow!" do not even want to imagine 11 pounds. good luck.

thanks guys - i am still here - the 11lb thing isnt fazing me too much - people who have small babies still have probs and get stitches, and i am stretched from my first...that sounds yuck...
my last ob appointment tomorrow - bet she'll be surprised to see me again... then induction day is thursday.

bit of a difference between jayde's 9llb and your 11lb. But She just flew out (im not kidding). So i think what you say about being stretched from the first is true. All the best

Maya just flew out too, no stitches. Then I had to lie in hospital with two ladies who had 6 pounders and listen to then whinge about how hard it was and how many stitches they had. I was like, "Hello, 9lb first baby two weeks early, I am NEVER having another one!"

Sophie was 9 pounds with no stiches too, she wasn't big as such, she was just all chub.  This time I'm going to try and watch my eating a little better - less suger rushes, more low GI stuff.  Will have to see how it goes

as you may know i was scheduled for an induction yesterday, well i am now home but i dont have a baby...
two lots of gel and some regular contractions but nothing major and they have decided that maybe i am not as far along as they first thought and i was sent home. what a let down...had a bad night in the hospital and lost it at the midwife on the night shift. but am glad to be at home now.

Oh deb!!!!!

You know what cheered me up?? I watched hopsital programmes (not on purpose, just was on TV) and it really makes you think, well, i may be fat, uncomfortable and hanging out for this baby, but when she/he comes they will be healthy and worth waiting for. the hospital programmes really made me realise that the situation could be so much worse!

hope that helps and that you have a healthy and "happY" delivery!!

thanks liz, i had a friend who had hers at 33 weeks due to toxemia, so i do feel lucky. i am getting worried tho that i am overdue and the placenta is deteriorating - thanks emma for that fact that i checked with my midwife... but i am going into the hospital today for a ctg and they can check if the signs are good for trying inducment again.

well i have been to the hospital again today - emma you didnt freak me out too much but it did make me think and so i asked the midwife, she didnt seem too concerned about it tho...
they did an internal and a sweep today, as well as a ctg and checked the fluid round bub.. heaps of fluid, cervix still quite firm she said, even tho midwife on thurs sd was soft.???
anyway, they sd if i dont get induced again soon i will have to go in to have ctg's done every day, so they booked me in for a monday induction...
i dont think i would have minded being overdue so much if they hadnt have made such a fuss about it in the first place.. my ob was originally trying to get me induced at 41.5 wks due to my age, but now it doesnt seem to be such an issue... i just wish they would all make up their minds.
anyway, i will stay positive, the baby will have to come out eventually and so long as i can feel him moving about i will be fine... and on a positive note the only thing 3 diff docs have agreed on is that they dont think he is 11 pd.
