Has anyone else developed excema only in pregnancy?
I've never had excema in my life yet DH spotted on my inner thigh (which of course I can't see with a big belly in the way) that I've got a patch of excema. I had noticed an itchy thigh but figured it was dog hair stuck in my yoga pants irritating me.
Does it usually go away after pregnancy or am I stuck with this for good now?

i replied to your post over in june mums hehe.
i get heat rashes esp in pregnancy on the inner thigh, i have ezcema and it is completly diff to the rash i get on my thigh so it could poss be a heat rash or chaffing.
although it is possible to get ezcema in only pregnancy.
it should go away, jsut get a cream from the chemist explain what it is and they will give you something that helps.

DH has excema and it looks exactly the same as his and his excema cream has helped it from last night.
I don't think that its heat rash - it sounds really silly but my legs are always freezing cold and it looks a lil different to heat rash

I know that the internet can sometimes be a curse as far as the ton of medical information that is available out there, but thought you might like to have a look at this link:

I got eczema on my arms when I was in late pregnancy... itched like a maniac. I had to get this gross brown stuff for it as I wasn't allowed to use the usual hydrocortisone creams due to pregnancy.
Maybe just using emulsifying ointment on it to keep it moist??
Mine went away soon after giving birth.

Check what the cream is stacey - most exzema creams are hydrocortisone and not good for pregnancy - I think they are steroid based? I also posted in the June thread too. Fingers crossed it is just a crazy rash and not exzema, but you could look at diet recently as one theory is the stuff that effects you during preganancy is bubs causing a reaction. Then the same stuff will cause that reaction in bubs during BF once he is here. (it's why i can't eat eggs anymore!)

Might be extra-dry skin from the pregnancy, or even a bit of rubbing? I guess it'll go away.

He's actually got a couple of creams for his. I'm just using the vit e based cream. No nastys in it but is good for healing anything super fast.
Usually if it's rubbing I'd get it evenly on both sides but it's far from even and not really in the right place for it .
I'll just be nosey with the midwife on thurs if it doesnt start getting smaller and see if she thinks I should go to the docs and get some proper cream for it or whether I should leave it alone.

I got exczema as a kid then never had any probs since, but when I was pregnant with the gremlins I had to stop wearing my engagement ring as I had started getting exczema underneath the band.
I put it back on recently and haven't had any more probs so maybe it was just a pregnancy thing.
