Ohhhh I am SO angry!!! I was just sitting at the lunch table with a few others from work, and one of the girls asked me how the baby is today, and I said he's fine and that there was a little knee sticking out earlier but I think he's asleep now.
And one of the guys there said, 'Would you stop that?' to us. And I looked at him in genuine puzzlement and said, 'Stop what?' And he said, 'Talking about that while I'm eating my lunch'. And I just looked at him in bafflement and asked if he found me talking about my unborn child offensive and he said, 'Well obviously'. And I said, 'How is it different from talking about any other child?' and he refused to answer me even though I asked a couple of times and just went back to eating his lunch. So I pretty much stormed off.
F*cking wanker, how dare he try to suggest that my child is something he wouldn't want to hear discussed while eating! I'm so angry I'm actually close to tears!

What a dick. Very obvious that he doesn't have children!
Don't take it to heart tho... his prob, not yours. And sit with females next time - they get it

What an absolute w*nker!!
You next time you end up with him sitting near you i'd be tempted to throw around a few terms like "episotomy" and "birth canal". (yes I do know I have an evil streak)

what an insensitive prick! how dare he say that to you! reading that made me start fuming because it reminded me of my ex's best friend who made me feel absolutely awful for breastfeeding, saying it made him sick and that breasts are for guys to touch and to have a baby sucking on them was obsene(sp?) and disgusting.
some guys just have no clue and need to grow up!
personally i think an unborn child is a wonderful mystery, certainly nothing that should offend anyone!

He freaking what?!?! Bet he's just bloody glad he didn't meet me. I'd have nailed him to the wall.
I went absolutely ballistic at a guy who lived with a whole lot of my friends when I was giving Hannah some no-nappy time and he suggested I put a nappy back on her as it was making him feel uncomfortable. He may have been entitled to feeling uncomfortable, but I felt utter disgust that he was even considering my child's nakedness something to be uncomfortable about.
Oops... sorry for threadjack.

That is disgusting! It amazes me how some people can be so wrapped up in their own little world!
I'm with Paws, next time you see him try and throw vaginas into the conversation!

I thought I might mention something about pooing during delivery? Or tearing right around to your bottom? I'll wait until he has a mouthful as well

Actually if this occured in the workplace - you are entitled to make a complaint. I would seriously speak to your manager or your HR manager about it. Its not good enough to just let someone get away with comments like that - even if the guys is a prick!

He could have said it a bit nicer than he did.. but my DP is more squemish than a girl and I can imagine him saying something like that.. although he'd make a joke out of it.

he sounds like a real loser Mikaela! What you said sounded quite normal - not sure how he could have found it off putting - maybe he shouldn't have been listening to "your conversation" - he obviously wasn't part of it - idiot!!

What a creep!! I hope that some of the other woman in the room gave him an earful once you left. I'm sure they were as shocked as you. Not sure how he can interpret that as 'disgusting talk'. He's obviously led quite a sheltered life!!

What do you mean your rip and poo during labour?!
I thought you went to sleep and out popped the baby, and you went straight back to your pre-preggy weight?! Your telling me that's not true?
Hehe, I have a friend that hates 'placenta', so I try to chuck that in just to wind her up every once in a while.
I can understand how you felt so peed off - I would have socked him one (and then you just blame it on the hormones - gotta be good for something!)

ooo I would have been livid and prob attacked him then blamed the outburst on his offensive comment and preggie hormones lol.
Oooo next time hit with the vaginas, cracked boobs, haemorroids etc...hehe he wont know whats hit him

It only says more about him than it does about you Mikaela.

ugh guys like that annoy me mikaela, and i hate how if you talk about your labour experience some of them are like " okay okay " as if they cant bear to hear anymore, why? wimps...its not like they will ever have to go through with it.
I think some men cant differentiate (sp) between a baby growing in your tummy and a cute little baby wearing stretch and grows and sleeping, they still think the stork bought them.
chonni your ex ( i hope ) work mate sounds like an idiot and similar to a girl i worked with, she asked me why did i keep caitlyn and i said id had a termination before and i wasnt doing that to this baby (and id already fallen in love with my baby but thats beside the point) and she goes "oh, ive already had FOUR abortions, id just have another one if i got pregnant again" ...not sure if she was telling the truth but STILL !

I would have told him that he should come apologise to me once his GF or future wife gets pregnant...and that you will be looking forward to it...
he does sound like the typical male...I had one in my office on short staff over summer and pre xmas they joked that he might have to birth bubs if i went in to labour over the break while working...poor kid didnt come near me much and i puffed one day and my sec (aged 20!) ran - seriously she RAN!!!! Every one handles it differntly....just realise that and have something ready for next time!
