Help!  I've never been a fan of long-acting bug-proofing sprays because I'd rather a daddy-long-legs or 2 to such toxic chemicals in our house.  But this morning as I was dressing Ella, a friggin white-tail jumped out of her clothing just as I was putting it on her!!!  The child goes into anaphylaxis after milk products so I hate to think what a spider-bite could do.  It's not the first we've found, but this one really freaked me out, as it'd been hiding in her room - in her clothing drawers nonetheless.  And I guess Ella's room is by far the nicest warmest one in the house, so they're bound to want to hang out there.

Hubby used Ripcord around the eaves once (he mixes it to extra-strength)... I caught a whiff of it from inside and immediately got a headache and barking cough, so I won't allow the stuff inside.  But we need to use something.  What have people used, and how effective was it?  And would you deem it safe to use in a child's room?

Personally just because it's white tails and bites from them are very very nasty (know from experience) I'd be more inclined to call a pest control place and ask them what they would recommend using. They can soon tell you what is and isn't safe to use around young kids and how effective a product actually is.
