ok, just so you know, I am not a smelly bum, I DO use deoderant (plenty) and have a real thing about smells BUT I have 3 tops that smell of BO under the arms which washing just does not seem to get rid of. So embarrassing when you put a top on, and get warm, and SMELL!!! I thought it was me, so changed deoderants, started using deoderant roll on AND spray together and was seriously thingking about getting botox in armpits, as I thought it was me... but noticed when I was hanging my washing out this morning for some reason I caught a wiff of one  and it is the tops. There are 3 of them, might be the fabric, traps smells, maybe. I have been and sniffed all my other tops, and they don't smell, just these 3. I don't wear them all the time and they are not that old, either. I warm wash everything in persil and fab softener and line dry everyhting as well.
What I want to know is do you ladies have any tips for removing smells from under arms of clothes? or will I have to throw them out... (don't really want to be buying new tops at this stage as all spending that isn't neccasary comes out of the wedding account..) PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ------------- The Honest Un PC Parent of 2, usually stuck in the naughty corner! :P |

| Have you tried vinegar?? I washed a set of curtains in vinegar (the only ones we haven't replaced since buying this house) because they smelt funny and it worked a treat. |

vinegar is a really good idea. Just instead of using the softner use a teaspoon or two of vinegar and then give it another rinse afterwards. Should be okay then. ------------- http://lilypie.com">

baking soda is a good odour eliminator and can be put in the wash too.
i would suggest tho that you dont use the fabric softener as that may be contributing to your problem. |

Otherwise you could try soaking in napisan I guess?
I hate BO too I spray twice daily and still get the odd whiff! yuk!-------------  |

I have a top that is the same!!! and only one armpit  I have kind of stopped wearing it now, and if I do I dont wave my arms around.

Just a tip: don't put any baking soda in if you plan on putting vinegar in too - use one or the other!!   Hehe, just had this thought if anyone got desperate they'd try everything, and I could imagine your washing machine exploding! Anyway, not that I think you would do that, just got a funny pic in my head. Back to daydreaming now...

My cheaper glassons and JJs tops do this after a while... I think it is the fabric 
I think hot washing with vinegar and baking soda rinse (like stripping nappies) would work. I'm just too lazy |

I just got the sky watch and it had some mailer about using household stuff to clean with and the had in it to use an alcohol based mouthwash, swab it on the bits that have the smell and then wash and the smell should dissapear. ------------- I was a puree feeder, forward facing, cot sleeping, pram pushing kind of Mum... and my kids survived! |

Are they all synthetic fabrics? I noticed some of my tops of a certain fabric got stinky, though it did wash out. But I avoid buying that kind of fabric now because by the end of the day, you can tell it's been worn all day. ------------- Andie |
