Religious people coming to the door trying to convince me to join their religion!!! No offence intended.
I just opened the door to 2 men holding a bible. I said straight away, no thanks, I'm not interested. And they didn't budge. So I said again, no thanks... and one guy said "have you ever read the bible"... then eventually started to move.
GRRR!!!

haha they can be very determined!
years ago i was babysitting and house sitting for my aunt for a week and before she and her husband left for their trip my uncle had (for some unknown reason) read the kids, who were 5 and 3 a book with a monster called Mog,the 3 year old in particular was very scared about this monster.
Well, one day some nice old ladies came to the door to talk about religion with me and not wanting to be impolite i listened for as long as i could before getting the 5 year old from school, well my politeness backfired cos they came over nearly everyday, until one day the 3 year old,Holly, bet me to the door and they said "hello, is your cousin here? we want to talk to her about God" and before they could say another word Holly screamed in terror and closed the door...she thought they said Mog, lol.
Holly is 11 now but i wont ever forget that, haha it was so cute

No offence taken! Heck I'm a total Christian girl but that doesn't mean I want to get into a theological debate with the JW's about our difference of interruptations when Maddie is due for a feed. *sigh*

did you know if you dont want JW to come to your house you can always call the local kingdom hall or ask them when they come over if they could please put you down as do not call. that way they wont come and interupt you again not sure if mormans do the same thing.

Then you need one of Andies - Do not disturb - New Family Resting signs. I've got one for my friend and her baby, but can see her shift work partner using it to ward off JW and door to door sales persons.

I reckon it would, crying babies are as much a deterant as barking dogs, for door knockets.
I can see the sign being used until Maia is 18.

I had two religious women come to my door this morning. I told them I had a brand new baby and they KEPT talking for ages and trying to read passages for me and asking me which ones I identified with and how much rent I paid for my house and what the baby's name was and all sorts of other crap.
I kept trying to tell them (politely) that I was absolutely f**cked and so tired I couldn't even think about what they were saying, but no, they just kept talking, even asking if they could come in and see the baby!!
I am SO not impressed right now as I've had so many visitors, Sam is overtired and grizzly now and I've had no chance to have a nap all day..
I have my aunty, grandmother, cousin and his girlfriend just lounging around at my house, they bought over lunch for them and me and made a whole heap of dishes!

OMG they asked about rent etc??? that is not on - I would tell them to leave or i am ringing the police!
In fact we had some while i was on mat leave - two guys - BIG and polynesian or similar - lets just say they dont fit into our area - wanting work and were pushy. I said i had a coffee group on, luckily dogs were barking etc, and there was a car outside, and told them my husband did all our outdoor work so they left....paper the next week had two guys matching their desriptions as suspects for local robberies etc who had been cang our houses as to whether people home or not...

You think thats bad, we had a telemarketer call asking if we owned our home, if we had a mortgage, if so how much it was, and what our incomes were. I very rudely told them it was none of their business

We had carpet cleaning people come to our house once when I was growing up, Dad got sucked in and then ended up staying until 9.30pm cleaning our carpets! Mum bought a $1100 vacuum cleaner system (which yes, is good!) just so she could shut them up and she could get us tea!

Some people just don't get the message do they?! We had an alarm guy come one night and DH was talking to him and very politely told him we weren't interested and then the guy said that everyone needed an alrm blah blah blah. DH told him in case he hadn't noticed when he turned up, we have two big dogs and they do a great job of looking after our place thanks. THEN, the guy started telling him ways that people could get past the dogs etc... DH was still being polite at that stage and when the guy still couldn't take no for an answer he accused DH of being racist! I was so proud of him for being so polite but in the end he just had to shut the door on the guy cause he was not going to leave!!

Once we had people coming round asking if we had any trees that needing trimming or removing and it was really obvious we had no trees on the property. Turns out there were a group of them going door to door and just scoping out houses and about 5 in the neighbourhood were robbed.
I love it when insurance people ring and I say no thanks not interested and they ask if I have insurance and I say yes and they say well we can do it cheaper and I say well I get it free so how are you going to beat that!

That happend to my Mum once and she said "how long would it take me to talk you around to another religion?" and they said very firmly "you couldn't"- to which she answered "I feel the exact same way". I thought that was pretty darn brilliant

when df was little him and his two older brothers were playing outside and a couple of jws came up and asked to speak to their mum and dfs older bro(the middle boy0 said that mum was in town, so they asked to speak to their dad and dfs bro just turned round and said "hes down at the woolshed, but he will just tell you to f*** off". dfs bro was about 8 at the time.... they never came back.
and when i was pg i had morning sickness and jws banged on the door and i got up to answer it and opened the door and threw up all over the door step.. again the never came back.
but a few month ago i heard a car come up the drive and this lil boy about 4 or 5 came tot he door and asked if i wanted to learn about his religion. his parents were sitting in the car and i was horrified that they sent a little boy up to the door of a strangers house when we had the dog running around...
