Is there anything else that I’m not already doing that will clear Caitlin’s snotty nose? It’s streaming and she is REALLY unsettled (got a total of ONE hours sleep last night). It’s clear mucus so there’s no infection but she is coughing/choking on it when it goes down the back of her throat 
This is what I have been doing: Natropharm Coldmed Eycalyptus oil on PJs (was using Karvol capsules before this) Vicks in hot water next to her cot Pamol Nasal aspirator (to suck the snot out) she really didn’t like this (but who would?!?!) ------------- http://lilypie.com">

I have no other ideas apart from what you've got there! We've got a snotter here too and she does the whole cough/choke thing when she gets wound up  We used Karvol and then ended up using Pamol when she was really starting to get scratchy. Loads of liquids and tissues too!
 Hope things start drying up soon!

The only other thing I use is Saline drops up the nose, it tends to clear it out so they can breathe easier. Have you tried tilting the mattress a little be I find this helps when James has had a snotty nose doesn't seem cough or chock on it when it's going down his throat.

Awww sucky. I am sorry you had a crap night! I hope tonight is better for you. The only other thing we used was saline solution. I know you can make it yourself, but I always got it from gp when we were there. (maybe Google it and it will give you the recipt) Big |

Hmmm not sure what it is? yep that was what i was going to suggest. i put a pillow under the mattress in the cot for toby all last winter. |

Saline drops are wonderful here too, and then to dry things up a little our GP prescribed us some Dimetapp Infant, which I give Erin just before she goes to bed. Fortunately she seems to be finally clearing up, since I have run out of the Dimetapp now anyway Hope you can "turn the taps off" for Caitlin soon !

We were given the Junior Otrivine by the chemist but it says "over 2yrs", dumb chemist! I was even buying Teethmed at the same time so I KNOW I told them how old she was! P.S Where's my manners? tut tut Thanks for all the suggestions, we've raised the cot and have done the saline drops too, man did she scream! Our GP prescribed infant otrivine (for under 2s) so you might want to give your GP a ring and see if it is okay to give her (if the other stuff doesn't work). Quite often medication will say not for under 2 unless under medical advice. ------------- |
