Significance for you.
Can tell I'm really bored. But sitting hear listening to the radio I had to smile as Savage Gardens song Truly came on and that's the song Troy and I got married to. I love that song it never fails to bring a smile to my face.
Almost makes me want to call him at work to say Hi!

Silver Springs by fleetwood mac... I used to listen to it alot when I had my heart seriously broken at 25, and the words really suited the situation (I know I could have loved you, but you would not let me..) Now, of course, I just appreciate the fantastic music...
Come undone by Robbie Williams really makes me feel like he looked into my heart and head when he wrote that. once again, situational, but true for the time and the headspace. Now, So True by the blackseeds really strikes me. It will probably be our wedidng dance..

Don't wanna miss a thing by Aerosmith, I walked down the aisle to it for our wedding in Feb this year! DH just played it one day to me and told me he would love me to walk down the aisle to it, made me bawl my eyes out when he told me, even made me cry on the big day!! Gives me goosebumps when I hear it now
Beautiful by James Blunt, reminds me of our road trip through the U.K in 05 when we fell even more in love than we were before! Always reminds me of the best holiday ever when we were still boyfriend and girlfriend, driving up to Scotland with it blasting on the stereo! Even though the words didn't quite fit perfectly for a wedding, we shared our first dance to this song, it was perfect for us as it meant so much!

I love Metallica too - Enter Sandman and Unforgiven. And the Green Day song "Time of your Life" reminds me of my brother. And the really old Garth Brooks song "The Dance" reminds me of our angel baby.
I picked "I hope you dance" by LeeAnn Womack for Maya's christening, and "Life of your life" from the McLeods Daughters soundtrack for the gremlins christening.
Oh and anything by Tupac, he is one of my greatest inspirations as a writer, not so much his real "gangsta" stuff but the social conscience that comes thru in some of his earlier stuff.
And my sister told me the other day that pretty awful Umbrella song by Rihanna(sp) reminds her of me coz she can always stand under my umbrella. Which made me like the song even tho it's pretty dumb.
That's a lot of songs! But you asked! I am a total music freak, and I probably have the most eclectic CD collection around, everything from Elvis to Kanye West.

there is this song buy a japanese band called HY "white beach". Lew and I went to a huge music festival called Summer Sonic, and this band - that we had never heard of, started playing, beautiful sunshine, beer in one hand, friends next to us and this happy happy song, makes me smile everytime.
Home Again - Shihad reminds me again of Japan, me and my friend Sapphira, and Lewis (i am hugely preggers at the time) at himeji castle singing for japanese schoolgirls who laugh and giggle at us. and hen sapph insisting on wearing my pure lambs wool sheep print scarf, despite it being 35 degrees.
ooh, i'm sure i have more,

Tupac, what talent, We have a lot of his songs I love them.
I'm also liking Guns & roses, songs like cats in the cradle, sweet child of mine and knocking on heavens door reminds me of being a teenager. Great housework music turned up loud. Hopefully the neighbours can't hear me belting out the words .
Emma just looking through some of our songs we also have an eclectic collection although it's mostly Troy, he used to be a guitarist so he has a fascination with music.

I have every album Tupac released while he was alive, and a fair few of the ones that have been released since. My all time fave of his is "Unconditional Love" but I also like Dear Mama, It Ain't Easy, Life Goes On, Shed So Many Tears, Brendas Got a Baby... ugh, don't get me started
And Guns & Roses totally rock, November Rain is my fave, I remember watching the video as a kid and my brother bought me "Welcome to the Videos" for Xmas one year, I like Sweet Child of Mine, Civil War, Knocking on Heavens Door...
And Nickelback are awesome, Maya knows all the words to Photograph and Far Away.
Vick - my brother is a guitarist too, he runs a record label in Sydney so he's really into his music, mostly punk metal. I do his PR and so he sends me demo discs of some of his artists (mostly Canadian bands) and some of them are pretty good.

Stephen Curtis Chapman - "Dive" - for my faith and how I want it to be.
Hillsong - "Worthy is the Lamb" - how I feel about God and Jesus.
Elemeno P - "Verona" - almost exactly describes B and I when we first met and got together!
Shania Twain "From this moment" and Brooke Fraser "Arithmetic" - always makes me think of our wedding day.

Ah yes, but do you know who did the original? I have a few of his CDs, my Dad is a big folk music fan.
The longer this thread goes on, the more I'll ramble on...
Paws, I'd never heard of Steven Curtis Chapman til I saw the slideshow that Jax sent and now I love his song "With hope", it is beautiful.
Danni - I like Pink Floyd too, reminds me of Willie and I before we had Maya, on a Sunday he used to put Pink Floyd on really loud while we cleaned the house etc. I alwys associate it with sunny weather tho, maybe he didn't play it when it rained, or maybe I have a selective memory.
Willie loves the BeeGees so a lot of their songs have significance for us, he used to sing "How deep is your love" to me (when he was really, really drunk!) and they played "Immortality" at my friends funeral
I like Elton Johns love songs, my fave is Empty Garden (Hey Johnny) but I also like the one about butterflies are free to fly, can't remember the name of it and too lazy to dig it out of the CD pile. And all his old ones like Your Song, Candle in the Wind etc. I saw him live with Billy Joel when they came out years ago, it was brilliant. Billy Joel is pretty cool too, I like Innocent Man and Only the Good Die Young.
And I'm a big fan of the Grays Anatomy soundtrack, love love love "How to Save a Life".
Thats all for now

Is it just me or is Akon a bit of a music whore? I like his stuff, but man he gets around - he's done so many collaborations!

I also really really really love the song "somewhere somehow" by wet wet wet (don't tell anyone...)
ANNND (cos I will never shut up, this is my fave topic) U + UR hand by Pink. Makes me LAUGH, really really reminds me of girls nights out when I was young and hot, and we used to actually say "keep your drink, just give me the money.."
Yep, AKON is a bit of a music Ho. Not really into that kinda stuff, either.

Good old Elton John how sad is this, the only concert I have ever been to is Elton John . My brother took me for my birthday when I was a teenager. It was good but all I could see was a purple bob on stage.
Emma- that's cool, DH has a few mates that are still into it. I know he misses it sometimes and from what I have heard from other people he was really good, I used to love going to sleep listening to him play.

Emma - I had tears come to my eyes when I read "Leather and Lace" by Stevie Nicks. Dunno if it's cos I'm just seriously emotional at the moment or what!! But I used to listen to that song over and over again and wish that it would happen to me. When I'm angry I like to listen to Imogen Heap. Wind Beneath My Wings was played at my previous bosses funeral (representative of the love between him and his partner and their son), and now when I hear it I cry.

Leonardo's Bride - Even when I'm sleeping. That song got me and Hubby talking the first time I met him and I walked down the aisle to it at our wedding.
Elton John - Tiny Dancer. Ella Kicking and dancing in my tummy made me think of this song, and so I played it a lot for her before and after she was born. I still sing and dance to it with her now, she loves it!
Michael Jackson - Ben. Completely unimaginative and written for a rat, but this is the song I play and sing with my bubba Ben
I'm so cheesey

Mazzy Star "fade into you" is one song that I play when I am feeling a bit melancholic. It's beautiful.
Also, Dave Dobbyn "Welcome Home" (yep, cheesy and naff!) was a song I listened to a couple of times when preggy and it made me think of my little man in my tummy (the line "welcome home, you see I've made a place for you now...." brought me to preggy hormone induced tears every time!
John Mayer "your body is a wonderland" is a song that has great sentimental significance to me and DP.
A couple of hard-banging house tracks from my time in London still take me back to the good old days.....
Ah, so sentimental

I can never say Tiny Dancer tho without conjuring up visions of Tina Turner's Private Dancer. Bizarre huh!
Clare - I love Welcome Home too, I never really got the point of it, just thought it was a nice song, til I saw the video with all the new migrants in it.
I've had Phil Collins playing this morning, I really like a few of his songs, especially Against the Odds, and Separate Lives.
My melancholic songs are This is the Life from the Dangerous Minds soundtrack, and Only Time by Enya, they played it in Third Watch when Bobby (?) the ambo guy died.
