Elle has been pretty cranky for 2 days (she used to be grumpy all the time but had been great for 10 days before this). DH had a cold about a week ago and now I have it so I wondered if she would get it. This morning she has a chesty cough :( What symptoms to baby's get when they have colds and at what point do to take them to the doc? I'm guessing you just take them if their fever gets high or they stop eating and drinking.

I guess babies get different types of colds just like adults. I know when Alyssa had her first one there were no coughs but a constantly runny and blocked nose. We held off going to the doc cause we didn't want to seem like paranoid parents, but we finally did when her temp was high and she wouldn't keep the pamol down. The doc told us we should go in as soon as we suspect a cold just cause it's free anyway and better to treat early than when their fever is high cause it's worse then..
Hope Elle is feeling better soon

Poor wee Elle! I'd probably say take her to the docs and get her checked out just to be sure - it's our prerogative as parents to be paranoid!
Hope she is feeling better soon!

It's our 4 year wedding anniversary today too so we were planning to leave Elle with her Grandma for a couple of hours. She hasn't had any alone time with her grandparents yet so I was nervous about it anyway but now I'm really nervous! Oh well, she WILL survive and it is important for DH and I to have some time together so we'll all just have to cope.
