Those of you who frequent TNN will know of the Koha tree. It is a section of their boards dedicated to people who has recieved surprise gifts.

I have always thought this was a really special idea and wished I could've become more involved.

I have been blessed today. This morning a man knocked on the door with a box. Inside this box there were clothes. Beautiful clothes. I opened it and felt so blessed and forunate to be so lucky. (Now, being a failed catholic, blesed is not a word i throw around regularly, but it truely sums up how i feel today)

The wonderful Ginger sent these to me. For no other reason than the fact that she is amazing. I am so grateful.

I can't think of anyway to express how much this means to me, and this may be sounding like a load of waffly bollocks but ... WOW!

Ginger, thank you so much!

Now that I can't shop, I'm having to find other ways to amuse myself ...

Seriously though, being able to make a gesture that means so much to someone else means a lot to me too.

(and I'll pretend that I'm not ten shades of green that your butt fits in pants that I can hardly get on one leg ... )

I just had a look at that board and it seems like a really good thing to do. There needs to be more random acts of kindness in this world.

I looooove the Koha Tree. In fact, I keep everyone's addresses that I have dealt with from OhBaby for the eventuality that I may find something for them.

The Gremlins' presents are still waiting to be done. Maybe by christmas!!

Anyway, the Ginger is lovely... and ridiculously generous

Lucky you Anna

Well, TNN is centered around cloth nappies but there is a lot more to be discovered too - besides Paws, it is the reason I ended up composting (well, I have before but not at this house until now), recycling far more, using cloth bags, using cloth pads and a mooncup, knitting, sewing, baking (more often), and yes - giving and receiving the odd Koha... it is truly a wonderful place !

ive always liked the random acts of kindness thing...from small things like letting someone in traffic to paying for someones meter so it doesnt run out (not easy to do anymore) etc....

we should live by that more often.....

and yes we love Ginger!!! Anna you must be little if you fit pants she doesnt anymore!!!

Well I got a nice surprise last night when I got home from picking Andrew and DH up there was a bag of clothes on the BBQ at that back door for Josh from my friend. I had just given her a bad of girls clothes so she returned the favour to me so nice. I was also a nice person, our neighbour is quite old and has lived in the house next door since it was build almost 80 years ago. He was bringing out his rubbish yesterday and had seen that the council had already been around so I told him to put his rubbish into our bin as it wasn't all that full.
