I hate the idea of DH going away at all - after bubs is here he has camp and a trip to oz ahead of him, whcih I am not lookingforward to (and neither is he!)

Hoepfully your dad will be helpful rather than not!

my DH goes away all the time...

I just try to relax... The hardest thing for me is sleeping... I dont sleep very well while he is away.
Generally DH comes home ad the housework has not been done cos I am soooo tired.

Chin up! You will get through this!

Great news on your Dad being there! I hope it works out

miss, my DH went to Oz when Ashlee was barely a month old! Granted it was only for a few days, but I still packed up my stuff and moved to Mums for those few days hehe!!!

Deb, where's hubby gone for training? Hope you're doing ok!

Hi Deb, my DH went away today as well. He does go away quite a bit for work it never seems to get any easier. I feel for you having to cope with two boys, I've only got one and he can be enough!! He's just so full on. I'll be ready for a holiday when he gets back next Sunday.

Aw, Deborah, hope it goes really quickly!

Off-Topic, but mine went away for one night last weekend and I had a BLAST!!!  Don't get me wrong, I like my hubby and all, but that evening once Ella was in bed I cooked up a dinner full of olives ('cause no-one was there to pick them out), cracked open a beer (the last one and no-one was there to fight me for it!), watched girly DVD's (no-one whinged about how boring they were or how late they finished), and held the remote allllll evening.  It rocked!

Wouldn't be keen on a whole week though.  Hope having your Dad staying works out nicely for ya

It's hard isn't it?! My DH is away all the time, as in over half the time we've been together (army). He goes away for 6 months in November (1 month before bubs is due). I think that's going to be the hardest thing for me, not having that support during the labour.

It's a love/hate relationship with him being away though, I hate him going and it's usually such a long time (although only 6 days at the moment - he comes home on Thursday hopefully ), but I love trying new things by myself, and having that honeymoon period when he gets home.

Best thing - have support. Even if it is only through OhBaby!

Good luck for the rest of the week Deborah. Isn't it annoying how men have such warm bodies and women are so cold? Just when you need a little heater beside you they decide to go away for the week Electric blankie for me tonight while DH is sleeping in a tent on the West Coast hahahaha
