Sudocrem works really well on Sam. Although in saying that since we have gone fulltime into cloth, nappy rash has not been an issue anymore. Sam would get it from both the sposies and the huggies sensitive wipes.

Change nappies more regularly (keep the wet off the rash), bepanthen cream for sore rashes, curash powder for just starting/finishing rashes (slight redness).

Is the rash just a bit of redness or is it spotty / blotchy as well?

Its spotty and blotchy. Have tried the sudocream and have been to the chemist but nothing working. I think changing the nappies more frequently is good and will try some nappy free time (but very nervous about that)

try Weleda rash cream, from health store, its natural but has lots of anti fungal stuff in, if its spotty it sounds a bit like thrush, this cream works really really well.

I am so ignorant when it comes to this stuff - what exactly does nappy rash look like? I am really hoping Kaleb hasn't got it without me knowing!

Faraway - trust me, it's pretty hard to miss! "Nappy rash" is fairly innocuous and is just when your bubs skin on their bum is a bit red and angry looking. If it is a fungal infection though it usually looks far more spotty and blotchy (sometimes with redness sometimes without).
Linda - ask your GP to prescribe you some Miconazole cream, and you could always get them to take a swab to see what kind of bacteria are in there (if it is a bacterial infection ie: thrush). Using a good barrier cream like Sudocream over the anti-fungal cream is important too.
