Since DS had his jabs on Monday and then some pammol he hasn't done a poo. Now I know that newborns can go up to 10 days without anything going on down there but he was pooing once or twice a day up to Monday. Tuesday there was a little bit of skiddys and then nothing.
His tummy is pretty sore too, very upset when awake and squirmy when asleep and very stinky farts

Any suggestions anybody???

50ml of cool boiled water with a teaspoon of brown sugar or 5ml of 100% orange/apple juice (not blend). Or stew some prunes and give him the water in a bottle.
You could also just try plain water first?

I'd do just plain cooled boiled water considering he's only 6 weeks old.

I agree, considering his age I'd just do plain water to start with. You can also try massaging in a "C shape on his tummy.

I had this with Josh and it took him 11 or 12 days to do a poo. It is common for BF babies to go that long but not formula babies.

I was a puree feeder, forward facing, cot sleeping, pram pushing kind of Mum... and my kids survived!

If you're worried you could ask your doc or Plunket nurse to feel his tummy (if he's consitpated they'll be able to feel little 'rocks' in there, and can probably show you what to feel for if you want to know for next time).  If he's done skids but no poos then I'd say he's consitpated (I'm not a doc though!).

May sound weird, but if you have any pure lanolin for yourself, you could rub some onto the outside of his anus a couple of times each day so that it's a little less likely he'll get a fissure when he does eventually go.  Can help heal one too.  prune juice diluted is good - about one 10th juice to water.
