Nappy bag? Not sure if this is the right place to post this, but I am trying to find a nappy bag for me and the Sprockets, that needs to be manly enough for DH, but they all look so small. So my question is........ What is in YOUR nappy bag? How do you organise it, and do you have any useful tips..... well that's 3 questions, but you get the jist of what I'm after

In mine I have a bag of disposable nappies, a packet of wipes, a tube of cream that Josh needs for his bum, and a few of the smelly bags for nappies. Next pocket I have a complete change of clothes, all in one, undersuit, singlet, t shirt, socks, mittens. Next pocket I have some small change, lipbalm, tampons (for when the witch decides to turn up) and a rattle. In one of the side pockets I have an empty pump bottle so that I can fill it up with fresh water when I am out. I have a lot in mine, its a backbag (babygear brand from Farmers) but its small enough to be out of the way and yet big enough to hold all of that. I don't need to have a bag of nappies in there but I have amply supply so just do. ------------- I was a puree feeder, forward facing, cot sleeping, pram pushing kind of Mum... and my kids survived! |

a total change of bubs clothing - onesie jacket scks etc etc
at least three nappies nappy wipes change pad purse (no longer use a handbag) cell phone plunket book - still there from last visit we have an egg maternity one....i love it. I have it off the back of the stroller. It has compartments that are easy access with large middle area so i can grab out bubs stuff from there. |

i have a kapoochi backpack, and in it is some flat cloth nappies in case of spills or if i want to feed in privacy and cant. some travel hand clenser (the alcohol based stuff, very handy) wipes, nappy, sunscreen for x, but will take jordis' stuff when she is bigger, spare sunnies for me, change mat that came with it. dont carry a spare change of clothes anymore, jordis is pretty good now and doesnt explode anymore (haha watch me just jinx myself!) ------------- Lyla - mum to Xanthe -  my big 4 year old

Yeah, I was wanting one that I can hang on the stroller handle, but, I think that I'll need one with the little loops that attach, because a double stroller handle is pretty damn wide!!!  It's a pretty daunting thought that I have to double everything that you guys have.
I'm leaning strongly towards a Kapoochi Milan Satchel (Old or new style) More advise appreciated. |

I have a Kapoochi Milan Satchel and it's awesome! It's more than big enough to fit everything I need in it, so I would imagine it to be just right for double the stuff.
I usually have in it: A complete change of clothes for Sam Three-four nappies Bottles in the thermal pockets A warm blanket Travel wipes Disposable nappy bags A spare dummy And the thing I cannot do without (xanthesmum said it already) flat cloth nappies for spills and feeding, they are awesome! |

| Because it's been so cold, I've been putting two really warm blankets in the bag, but if I didn't put those in there would be more than enough room, as they probably take up more than half the bag. All the extra pockets means that in the main compartment all you really need to put in is clothes and spill cloths. I can fit at least two bottles in each of the pockets on the side, the nappy dispenser thingy at the bottom would fit at least 10 or more disposables and all your small bits and pieces would fit in the smaller pockets. I usually take way more than I need to and don't end up using most of it, but you soon figure out what you do and don't need. |

I started off with heaps of stuff in our nappy bag, but unless I know I'm going to be out for a while, or will have to feed DD solids (messy bunny that she is) this is all I find I need:
Two nappies Change mat Wipes One flat cloth nappy One wetbag for the nappies Hat (if not already wearing one) Jacket or cardy (if not already wearing one) Small blanket (not even this sometimes) A toy or two A couple of rusks and her water A bib If we're out for a while (like, more than two hours) I'll pack a spare change of clothes for DD, and any othe extra bits and pieces - the sling, sunscreen, more nappies, the blanket, etc. |

Thanks Renee, that is the one before the milan, the only difference between the two is the colour on the outside from what I can see.

I am the same as Paws, don't take too much. If we need to do a whole outfit change it would normally mean he needs a wash as well, so just nappies, wipes, bum cream, bib, wallet and phone. Oh and a dummy to help him sleep if we are out for awhile. ------------- ">

I just use my over sized handbag now when we go out it as one nappy in it wipes, bum powder don't take a change of clothes with me anymore as I never needed them had been caught out twice in 8 months James had to wear girls clothes the other day he looked very pink. I have a denim Kapoochi bag... not a backpack, and not a satchel, but has a shoulder strap... sorry, mind-blank and I can't remember the name of the style!
I bought it recently (second-hand)because it's bigger than the bag I was using. I'm finding it great! Its big enough to hold a change of clothes for each boy, change mat, three or four fuzzis, wipes, 2 cups, bibs, snack food, and a couple of toys for Xavier. I could clip it over the handle of my pushchair, but as I have a Phil n Ted and the boys are stacked in it, the bottom one doesn't have much headroom before they are bumping into the bottom of the bag. ------------- Becca, mum of 2 girls & 3 boys |

Mine has been through a lot of changes. At first I used to pack a HEAP of stuff "just incase". Then when I had Briona (Hannah was 1 1/2) I packed about the same amount of stuff for both of them LOL.
In my bag at the moment are pad for me 2-3 disposable nappies (you'll only need 4 at a time because if anything happened and you were out longer than that you'll just wanna go home!) a whole change for baby warm hat (in summer, a sun hat) wipes plastic bag/smelly bag for dirty nappies jersey for baby if she's not wearing one and it might get cold raisins/crackers/plain biscuits for instant snacks wallet and keys fit in there too. Soon I'll be TTing Briona and there will be two changes for her as well, and Krystiana is getting to the stage where it would be helpful for me to pack a few toys. I put the toys in one of the front pockets so a baby sitting up can reach, and the snacks separate from the toys and the clothes. I prefer the back pack style of bag because, regardless of whether I have a stroller or not, I can always have two hands free. And it's okay for DH to carry  ------------- |

I have an Oioi carry all, and whilst they are ridiculously expensive (thank you to my lovely boss for buying it for me as a maternity leave pressie  ) having had one I would definitely spend the $$$ on one. It has sooo much space in it, and there's plenty of room for two lots of nappies, wipes etc. and it fits two of the Avent bottles in each end pocket which is perfect for a day out with the gremlin creatures.
Plus it has a long over-the-shoulder strap that fits over the back of the twin buggy, and shorter carry-straps that fit over the handles on the twin stroller. And it is the funkiest colors/pattern. I am in love with it! ------------- Maya Grace (28/02/03)

i have a scooby doo backpack that i got from movieworld i don't take half the stuff that i use to.i just take a bottle for charli, spare bodysuit and pants, a nappy for each kid, a wipe each (i use cloth), plastic bag for the dirty ones, white flat cloth for spills etc and a clean bib ------------- http://www.alternatickers.com">

Next time I know exactly what kind of bag I want. Luckily hubby is not too concern carrying a real girlish one around. Right now we have a rugsack but had 3 babybags before hand.
In the beginning it was nappies, wetwipes, changing mat, bumcream, 2 sets of extra clothes for bub, a top for me. Then had a small blankie, dummy (that she never used), thermometer and panado drops in a cooler bad. (panadol for over here). Later when she was bigger teejel (bonjela over here) My wallet, cellphone and then one cuddly toy or a toy of some sort.
