This afternoon Fiona and I had coffee with a friend at Botany who's baby is due on the 7th July, and she mentioned that she had been having tightenings for a few hours. She left us about 2pm, and she just called to say that she gave birth to her baby boy on the bedroom floor at home at 5pm!

She was hanging around the Due in July group, but reckons they're not too talkative, so might find herself joining the June group after all! All went well, mum and baby seem to be doing fine. Caleb was 6lb10oz, Jenny says he is tiny, too small for newborn clothes even! Thanks for all your congratulations.
I phoned DH to come home at 3.50pm and jumped in the shower. Labour started at 4pm in the shower and contractions were only about one minute apart so I asked my neighbour to come over. DD (nearly 12) fetched me some towels while I rang the midwife. I put my hand down and felt the babies head. Fortunately the midwife was 5 mins down the road so she was able to come straight away. Her and her colleague arrived at 4.40pm. DH arrived about 4.50pm, Caleb was born at 4.55pm.

I never had 0000 stuff for the gremlins, they went straight into 000 which were ginormous on them, but I didn't want to buy a heap of tiny stuff when we didn't know how big they'd be, or if they'd have to go to NICU where they only wear a nappy and hat and booties.
They do look funny in their giant clothes tho, esp after Maya the 9lb monster. But looking at baby Caleb it's hard to believe my gremlins were ever that tiny! ------------- Maya Grace (28/02/03)
