Subject: Someone stole my car!!!
Date Posted: 30 June 2007 at 2:28pm
OK, a few of you will know that a couple of months ago my car was written off by some silly lady pulling out of a driveway and into me.
I got insurance money and blah blah found a car that my Dad got for me down in CHCH. I went down to get it and discovered it had a blown headgasket so had to go back to Wellington without the car while it went to get fixed at the seller's expense.
I had JUST got the car back (my sis drove it up for me) and I have been driving it for ONE WEEK and I go outside this morning and the freaking thing isn't where my sister parked it last night!
SOMEONE STOLE MY CARRRRRR!
I wasn't angry at the time but now I am furious. I had only insured it 3rd party as well. (And was planning on organising full cover very soon)
ARGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH.
Right. Vent over. If anyone sees a navy peugeot 306 with number plate SN2888 can they please report it? In Wellington.
Grrr.

I might write letters to all neighbours. That'd give me something proactive to do. And either might get me some information or might get them to be vigilant with locking cars.

Nikki, if I could swear without getting my wrist slapped, I'd be swearing right now - I am soooo angry for you As I'm sure you know, I can well appreciate how utterly violated you must be feeling right about now.
I'll have my fingers crossed that your car turns up like mine, in good condition.
Let me know if there's anything I can do to help.

that sucks nikki. I read your post title and said "oh no, someone's stolen Nikki's car" and hubby said "no nice nikki from wellington?" and I said "the one and the same" - we feel bad for you - thats no$4000 fdor a new car, but hopefully can make you smile a bit. I know how GUTTED i would be if my car was knicked so can only imagine how you'd feel. can't think of anything witty or funny to say. so wqill leave you with
also, not to upset you further, but was Hannah's car seat in it?
|
Posted By: nikkitheknitter
Date Posted: 30 June 2007 at 4:12pm
Not just ONE car seat - but TWO!!! ARGHHHH
Her carseat and booster seat were in there.
And thanks ladies If you were all exceptionally wealthy I'd be totally hitting you up for money... but as no one has yet confessed to being a billionaire, I'll let it slide.
P.S. Liz - glad to see you have Lewis on my side and I've not even met the guy! It really does bode well for when I actually do. Brilliant.

Oh and third post in a row - your story does give me hope Emma! I soo soo soooo hope they just leave it somewhere. I will be eternally grateful. There was only 1/4 of a tank of gas (poor student that I am) so they wouldn't have been able to get far without having to fill up (which could mean they were seen blah blah)

That sucks!!!! we'll totally be keeping an eye out for it and I'll make sure I stick a post-it in DH's car with the number plate (not that it's hard to remember!) because he drives over the whole city for his job.

I hope you get it back in one piece Nikki, god I hate thieves so much!! They make me sick and it's so violating.
Years ago I also had a car stolen which came back pretty much ok apart from a stuffed ignition and lock from where they used a screwdriver (although I could still use the key).. I had to trade it in soon after I got it back though cause it no longer felt like my car anymore and it was weird being in it.

Oh NO! That sucks! Especially with the car seats in it. at the stupid car theives, I hate theft it really makes me mad. I had three different cars stolen in one year once, I was a student too at that point. I couldn't believe it! Hate to say it, but we never saw any of them again. I like to think they went to the big car heaven in the sky.
Sorry, wee tangent there. No where near as bad as the [insert bad word here] taking off with Hannah's seats as well. I really hope you get it back in good condition and it was just some stupid kids going for a joy ride.

Oh you poor thing! GRRR KARMA KARMA KARMA!!! We had our car stolen a few years ago - it did turn up with LOADS of beer cans in it, stereo gone, subwoofer gone, ignition screwed and the dash was bashed up a little (to get to the stereo we'd bolted in there) as well as anything of value stolen but otherwise - it was ok. People never caught though, insurance had just lapsed as well :(
Look out for your car seats on trade me! (seriously)

Ahhhhh soooo ummmm yeahhhh
Apparently car was towed.
I dropped a little note around the neighbours to tell them about my car and one rang me to say that they had seen it being towed away.
ARGH!!!
Turns out when the police checked the towing database it hadn't yet been entered and probably didn't end up on there until monday. Grrr. And they neglected to tell me that it can take that long sometimes.
And as to being towed... I object to that too! I rang a towing company before I talked to the police and they said that usually they wouldn't tow a car parked across a driveway unless there was a complaint. And no complaint from here!! I'm going to have words with the council.

Umm, Teresa, have you lived in Wgtn CBD before? The streets here are hideous for parking, narrow, no parks anywhere.. the reason people park on the footpath is that the freaking roads aren't big enough to park on!! hehe.. I've been in your position before though, and have left a note on a car parked in my way, it was parked on a really wide road - on the footpath.

Just to clarify, it wasn't across the driveway on the footpath!
It was across the driveway at the entrance, on the road. Our garage goes directly onto the footpath... it would be downright rude for me to park obscuring the footpath as there is no where else for peds to go except on the road on a blind corner.

And yeah, you get how I mean right Kat? Anyway, the reason Jute had parked there in the first place is because over the weekend there seems to be about 3 times as many cars as the weekdays and you can never find a carpark!!
And it was towed at 11.50pm... strange time for a neighbour to get irate about a car parked in front of MY garage?!!? I think it was just grumpy parkwise people.
