We're having cake and assorted finger foods, the usual stuff like mini sausage rolls, cheerios, chips, vege sticks and dip, mini spring rolls etc but will have some other kiddy friendly stuff too like mini sandwiches and fruit etc. I've invited friends and family, but since we have a few other birthday parties to go to in the same month, we are having Erin's party the weekend before her birthday. We will do something special but smaller with her on the actual day, and probably just the three of us.

I learned from the mistakes that we made from my girls First birthday.
We invited the family(extended family over here) and it ended up really huge. Half of the food wasnt eaten and I was running around like a mad thing trying to please everyone with teas and coffees. Next time I will have cake and tea for the family a day before or after her real birthday and just spent the day as a family together on the day.
Cake. Well cake is off course the most important thing of the day.
This year I am going to invite 2 or 3 people over with their kiddies and either go to the zoo and have picnic there or have cake here and let them play with the castle I intend to make for McKayla. Nice and quiet.

Birthdays are really important in my family, not just for the child but for the parents too. So we're having quite a big "YAY! We didn't break her for one whole year" Party
Who did you invite?
Family and friends with similar age kids. Was just going to be 20 at the most, that quickly turned into 30+
What food did you have?
Age appropriate stuff, cherios, fruit & vege fingers etc and the cake of course
Did you have party on there actual birthday?
Her birthday this year is on a Wednesday, so we're having a nice day just the 3 of us (DH & I are taking the day off work) and then having the party on the following weekend

Ashleigh's birthday was on a Tuesday (Dh took the day off work and we went to the zoo) but we had her party on the Saturday prior. We had a family lunch at my parents - ended up with 16 adults and 6 kids. Mum and I just made the food for adults and pizzas and cheerios for the kids. Ashleigh and her 10 month old cousin just had their normal lunch. I made her cake aswell. We didn't bother with any games or anything as she is really too young (9 months corrected).
