Elle has been coughing in her sleep for the past 2 days...any idea what this could be? She doesn't seem to have a cold but her nose is a bit runny. Could it be due to the excess saliva from teething? She has been spilling lots of big yuck spills too.

Sienna has a nasty cough at the moment too, and a fierce runny nose, I think it's just a bit of a cold, coz she was grouchy over the weekend but is happy enough now.

both my ywo are barking like dogs in their sleep. Just colds here. I use (as advised by my DR) the 3 day rule. If it is loose sounding - rattly- and day and night and after 3 days no better, get thee to DR to make sure its not bronchitis.

Connor has this at the moment. It's a baby cold. Because the baby brain doesn't know to cough up phlegm he's been spilling after feeds and bringing up phlegm then. He's also coughing at night and has a runny nose. We've lifted one end of his cot slightly (put the yellow pages under the legs) so that his head is elevated, smothered his little chest in baby vicks and had his ears and throat checked out by the GP (all okay)

I'm sure she doesn't have a cold though as the cough isn't rattly (like it was when she had a cold a while back), she doesn't cough at all when awake and she doesn't have other symptoms. I guess it's nothing,

Andrew used to get asthma at night time with a cough. If in doubt, check with the GP.

Yeah but it's not really a runny nose..just a little bit when she gets upset (which is all the time!) the cough is only in her sleep. She had a cold a couple of weeks ago and had a really runny nose and chesty cough. She loves to cough as a joke so maybe she has dreams about it and coughs aloud!

As a child, and right through my teens, I used to get a cough at night, a dry sounding one, and it was Asthma - I'g get the littlie checked over at the GP.

Thanks. We'll see how it goes. It's only been 2 or 3 coughs a night so if it gets worse we'll go to the GP
