A tornado has hit New plymouth in town there have been some rooves ttaken off building's totally scarey aye. My Hubby is at his first reall call out on the fire truck. ------------- Deborah Mum to:

yeah apparently i have heard of them there before because of how darn close it is to the sea and something about how winds etc blow there that can cause them... or something like that...

Peace I just looked at the pics on classic hits and was going to post them here --- DH was up there today for work and commented how bad the weather was up there.....

and then botany downs up here in auckland got hit...and it seems like it was just down the road from all the sirens going on....apparenty an elderly ladys window broke etc.,....
I got caught trying to get bubs outta car and just got in garage with her in my arms when lightening went off - and from then on the thunder was LOUD and lighting lit up the house....dogs hate it!!! and then came the sirens....argh!!! |

how bloody exciting is all I have to say about it. I have two friends that work right next to placemakers and saw the roof come off and go flying about in the air. Then my BIL and 2 nephews were standing at their window at home and watched it come towards them...BIL then said, mmm I think we had better move and they ran to the middle of the house then bam! Off came their roof
So exciting, I will be seeing the nephews tomorrow (6 and 8 years old) and I can imagine that they will be hard to shut up about it all  ------------- http://tickers.families.com">

PS, that first pic of the roof in the tree, the building behind it is where one of my friends work and they all were standing there at the window frozen watching the whole roof come towards them....if it wasn't for that tree they would have been in major trouble!

My Dh was pumped it was really cool actually he was so excited to be involved in something so exciting. He not a paind fireman tho he work's at pak in save as well.

| The tornado in Botany was actually in my teeny-weeny community, Golflands -- I was working in the city and didn't hear about it til I got home! DH's cousin lives two streets over from us and had 1/4 of his roof tiles ripped off. The tornado was strong enough to lift up our patio umbrella (which weighs about 30kg) and send it about 5 from the deck -- thank goodness our yard is fenced, or it would have been through the neighbour's kitchen window! |
