I'm after opinions, all will be considered and no offence will be taken.
We have just been told that the twins are fraternal girls right...... So, DH and I had decided that we will treat them as complete individuals regardless of whether they turned out to be identical or not, completely different names etc, however, when it comes to dressing them when they are still little babies, will it really matter if they are dressed the same? All opinions and advise accepted.

| my friends are the same as you, they have a number of twins the family who have told them on no uncertain terms that the girls are NOT to have complimentary names, and are NOT to be dressed alike. Personally I was all against it too, but have seen some really cute outfits, but i must admit, i plan to get same outfit, different colours for them. |

Thats the track that I am thinking, same outfit, differing colours. Except of course all the gremlins lovely PP clothes that I will buy at the drop of a hat.
I don't like it for the lack of identity, but surely the sprockets won't care in the 1st 6 months or so? Aargh....... how to have children and not damage them for life

If you get the same outfit, but different colours..make sure you share the colours around.
My sister is 4 years younger than me and she ALWAYS had to have pink whenever my mother got us the same outfit. (Yes, I am scarred for life, being dressed like my younger sister....) anyhoo i digress...It upset me at the time that she was always the one in pink and I had to have the other colours (blue yellow, green, purple etc) otherwise she would crack it... so share the pink, purple, green, lemon etc around to both girls! ------------- formerly known as "Bee" Ethan ~ March 2003 Big 6 year old school boy! Well how about having 2 outfits exactly the same but on Day one the one wears it and day 2 the other one wears it. And vice versa with the other outfits. That way the one wont feel perhaps the other one is getting cooler clothes ect.

it wont make a difference at all and you may even find when they get older that they want to dress the same. The way you dress them wont scar them for life, but rather how you treat them may have an impact. ------------- http://www.myfitnesspal.com/weight-loss-ticker">

Dress them the same! It confuses people 
Having Maya has taught me that no matter what you do, there comes a point where you can't tell them what to wear anymore, and no matter what you say, they WILL wear a pink t-shirt under a red singlet with a purple skirt 
So I figure I'll dress the gremlins how I like while I can before they get old enough to tell me to sod off. And aside from being totally cute when they are dressed the same, it means people have trouble telling them apart, which amuses me, and when you're parenting twins it's tough so you got to take the entertainment where you can get it
They do have the odd outfits that don't match ie. one has pink and one has yellow etc. but mostly they are identical. -------------  Maya Grace (28/02/03)

My sister and I are 18mos apart and while I think we look quite different (as kids I was always a head taller than her and we had brown/blonde hair).... but my mum used to make us matching frocks and cardigans for Church and we liked them. Then we cottoned on to people mixing us up and it was quite fun to do that on purpose.
Identical twins are soooooo cute! I'd definitely dress them the same for going out but probably not always the same on an everyday basis. IMO It's less about dressing and more about how you interact etc. ------------- |

He he Emma, I thought that there would be a upside to dressing them the same. I guess any little giggle you can get when you are a twin mummy counts huh!
I think, no matter how much we fight it, they are going to get given matching sets of everything anyway, so we'll just have to see what happens I guess. |
