This is probably not a very intelligent question, but what is a really cool present for a first birthday??? My friends daughter is turning one in a week. She is gorgeous, has heaps of clothes and toys and I don't know what to get her. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated, thank you

Does she have lots of hair? You could get her some pretty clips and hairties.

Snap Becks I was thinking the same thing. I only have boys and find it so hard trying to think of things for little girls so I think this is a very intelligent question I will be watching for pressie ideas too.

Some dress up clothes? Or maybe a personalised book where the child themselves are mentioned in the book and is the hero of the story (what I am giving to the kids in the family for Christmas this year)

An easy shape puzzle (only about 5 pieces?), hair clips etc, bath toys - the pouring type, not the stupid floating ones! - dolls, plastic teaset, table and chairs, stroller for a doll, ride-on toy, new pjs, her own plate and cup set, shoes, tights, slippers.......

Great ideas thank you. Wow Busymum! I should have known that of course you would know! That's heaps to go on with. Thank you. For anyone else like Leish looking for ideas someone suggested to me starting a tradition, like maybe a charm bracelet and then getting her a little charm for it each year. Hmmmm, got heaps to think about now Thanks ladies

thanks for this thread! we've been thinking about charli's birthday coming up and since jack already has the 'big ticket items' like fisher price piano, ride on's, table and chairs etc we couldn't think what to get her
for jack's first birthday he got lots of blocks (plastic and wooden), a little ride on, little touch leappad, sandpit toys, books, friction cars/trucks and some clothes.
