oh I just pledged to change my light blubs to the better ones (clr?? somethin like that) thing is theres only two light blubs in the house with the old types so I have already done it and only reason the other two are old is cause the new ones don't fit.

Great cause...

Bon Jovi was on only a little while ago, so hopefully you didn't end up missing him Aimee.

I think it is a great idea, great event and especially important cause but... I still wonder what kind of "carbon footprint" such a huge event must be making, which would kind of defeat the purpose wouldn't it ??

true... but if the event makes X amount of people change things in their lives then surely it will all balance out.

Eco bulbs are bloody ugly. If they ever change them to look like normal lightbulbs then I'll use them..

Argh, we went out for 45 minutes and I missed him!

Those people that went to the concerts would have been at home with TVs on, making rubbish, having hot showers, lights on etc etc, so arent they just making their footprint at the concert rather than at home. Also, more than anything, it was about awareness and trying to get people to make the changes.

Pepsi, you get used to them. We have also got some mini spiral ones that dont poke out of the lights so far.

I watched about 5 mins of it (about the average time allowed by Caitlin before she turns the TV off LOL) so we're saving power there LOL

We're making an effort with using cloth nappies, Eco bulbs in all lights even the dimmer (just read the box last night that you're not supposed to )
We recycle all that we can and give a lot of food scraps to SiL for her dog or to MiL for the compost.

Hopefully that reduces our footprint and makes up for having a 4WD
