As kiddies get older there are more and more pictures and paintings and other creations, some of them even presented as "gifts" to us (mum and dad). Do you keep yours? Any special systems?

I have a named archive box for each child which I keep paintings and gifts etc that they have made in.

I will admit to throwing out some pictures though but never the ones that were given as gifts.

umm yep I have thrown many of them out. I kept some for years and then threw them out.Miss 9 is always giving me little notes and pictures. some I keep and some I throw away when she doesn't see (normally put in the fire) As long as I have got something from each age group, or if there was a special time - ie: when we brought rhyley home she had made a sign on the lounge door saying welcome to your home Rhyley - very cute and I have kept that in his baby book.

use as wrapping papaer for people's birthday - jake and taine are both too young to give me pics as pressies- also this year we are laminating them to make place mats as xmas presents. I stole an idea from a mag that I'm going to use to display jake and Taine's "art" - put some wool across the wall - pin it up and on the wool, put cloth pegs - like a washing line. and use those to display the art in the kids room. no pin marks on the wall or in the pics.

The first thing Hannah does when she gets to creche is head for the easel... lately she has taken to gifting me paintings while I sign her in... she can churn out up to 5 in the 10 minutes that I am there!

Needless to say, I have an overflowing wardrobe in Han's room full of her artwork... and a wall dedicated to her as well. Mum made the stupid mistake of saying that she doesn't have any of Han's paintings at her house so I have amassed a shopping bag full of them ready to be sent. (And there'll be plenty more where they came from! *muhahahahaha*)

We have all of Andrew pictures and painting from daycare and the ones he has done at home. At the moment they are in a box in his wardrobe.

ETA: The ones that he has given to "mummy" and "daddy" are in our room.

My Mum has boxes in her roof of stuff we did when we were kids. There are 4 of us (I'm the eldest @ 28 and there's roughly a 2 year gap between each of us - so we're talking about ancient stuff here) She has pretty much all of our school books since we started school (only stories, not maths and everything else unless we specifically asked her to keep it for us), and some pictures/cards we made for her and Dad. We have a scrapbook each of certificates from kindy/primary school and another one for high school stuff. I'm glad that she has all that but I don't know what I'd do with it if she wanted us to keep our own stuff. I kind of rambled on here, sorry Just wanted to say - keep as much as you can! As kids get older they can help you sort stuff for keeping and chucking or giving away. Keep something from each age

I take photos of all of Maya's artwork and store them on CD's, then either use it as wrapping paper or chuck them out. I used to keep them all but it started to overflow all over my office and someone else suggested photographing them so she still has a record of her work, but one that takes up less space.
