Ive just booked in to have my laser eye surgery!!! Booked in for 2nd August although we move that week so not sure if I should change the date but thought I would leave it for now and see what hubby thinks. I really cant wait to have it done but Im scared at the same time. I have so many issues - control, panick, anxiety issues Im terrified of how I will handle the acutal procedure plus after you have to where goggles for a night so you dont rub your eyes and I tend to panick when I have something I have to do like that. Plus Im feeling guilty cos its a lot of money but at the same time it would be such a huge change for my life and help me build some self confidence, but should that be an issue at the expense of my family....... told you I have issues!!!!
Rambling now so will stop..... man its going to be a long month of waiting and stressing!

Go for it - you deserve it. I know sometimes we feel guilty when we spend alot of money on ourselves but don't you gotta spoil yourself. Your DH will be fine with it as he wouldn't of agreed to it in the first place if he wasn't.
Yay scary but just think of the end result (sounds like something I would say to someone going thru child birth LOL)

Wow, I'm sure my DH would love to have laser surgery if it would work for him! I can't remember how much that stuff costs but it sure will save you a lot in the way of glasses/contacts, right? Well probably a good thing it's not scheduled for tomorrow and you can think it through (although sometimes that just makes things worse - think labour LMAO!)

Yep I good friend of mine got it done too and said its best spent money in years Also you would be saving money in the long run, not having to keep buying glasses or contacts everytime you needed a new prescription.

How exciting for you. you are in chch arent you? Where are you getting it done? PM me if you have any questions...I have a lot of knowledge in this area and can probably put your mind at ease.
Basically it is an incredibly straight forward procedure and most people comment the worst thing is taking the shields off the next day....honestly the tape they stick them on with is VERY sticky!!!!!Ouchy ouch!

Wahoo! Go For it (I'm writing this in a bigger font because I realise that you haven't had your eye surgery yet...but just think...once you've had it, you won't need the big fonts.....now, if only there was a way to make this blurry too.....)

LOL Emeldee!
My dh wants it done too...it is about $5-7000 and he had an appt to see if he was a candidate - and he is - so have promised him if any inheritance or extra money comes in he can use it for that - Im sure it will be good results
Go ahead - sounds like you are well underway for it and it will be a HUGE positive for you! I know surgery of any kind is scary but you will be fine!

My father in law had it done a couple of months ago. He said it was great. He's had to have something or other redone though - pity they can't laser a bit further through and work on his brain (yesterday he suggested that Andrew had a sore tummy from eating something off my floor....w*nker....anyway, I digress)... laser surgery...all good. Go for it!!!

NZPiper I have a thousand questions for you so will PM you thanks.
I just feel so guilty bout the money though. Its gonna cost about $6000 and I keep thinking of all the things I could do with that money but at the same time there will always be something else I could spend the money on.
