Wow. Seriously, this day has been great so far!

You might have picked up from previous recent postings that I'm not very happy in my little part time job I have. It SUCKS! I've only been there for 4 months, and I've stayed in it, thinking it would get better etc, and it just has not and I can't see it getting better from here. I think about work 24/7, it's physically and emotionally exhausting and I end up stressed and unhappy even when I'm at home.

So... I've been looking for work, and I had an interview this morning (and was allowed to take Ashlee with me! Their suggestion, not mine!!! It's at the company I used to work for before I took maternity leave). I sat down to be told 'well, this is just a formality, you're well and truly qualified for the position, I'm not even going to ask you the questions'. So the job was mine.

They altered the hours to suit ME and MY situation, which makes me feel appreciated!

So that was cool! I rang DH on the way home, and he tells me that he has cause for celebration -- he got a pay rise! Yay!

AND... I get home to see a scary looking IRD envelope waiting for me and opened it up and was totally blown away by a very, VERY hefty tax refund!!!!!!!!

Thought I'd share some good news and hope it rubs off on people who need or want it

Maree, we actually went out and bought a lotto ticket this afternoon!

The bottle of wine is yet to be purchased hehehe but we'll be doing that too

Yeah, all this luck follows DH's $200 Westfield vouchers he brought home yesterday for a job well done, and I also found out today that my mum has won some $1000 award at her work for the great stuff she does there!

ETA: Aimee, yep most of it ($950 odd ) was the family assistance.

Funny you should say that! Because after my interview, I went and met my old boss for lunch and the lady that interviewed me came in and said 'oh and by the way, if you know anybody else that isn't happy at the job you're at now, let them know that we've got other vacancies here!' I was like I couldn't be a poacher!!!

Why do you ask?? Are you moving down here??

Yeah I'm looking forward to getting away! As long as you guys don't have anymore tornadoes hahah!

(And providing I can still take my holidays in my last 4 weeks of work knowing the bosses, they're likely to throw big wobblies about it!)
