Sienna has had a pretty persistent cough for the past three weeks, she's seen the GP two weeks ago and the after hours doc on Wed when she spiked a fever (and ended up at Starship but that's a long story) and now she has no fever but has broken out in what looks like a viral rash. So do I take her back to the doc again? If it's just a viral rash there's nothing they can do right? She's a little grouchy but nothing major. She CAN NOT get sick the day before our trip to Whakatane!

Krystiana had a cold recently and came out with the VR when she was just starting to get better. It was all the same virus. Just watch for the other things: fever, unsettledness, loss of appetite. A rash alone doesn't warrant an after hours doc trip IMO.

btw I presume you have checked the rash for blanching (the glass test)?

Jake had that - which turned out to be the beginnings of chicken pox - however when we went to the doctor he just said "pamol"

Gee thanks Liz! I'm going to hope she's like Krystiana and that the rash is the tail end of the virus, and not like Jake and about to burst out in chickenpox!
I might hold off on going to the doc unless her temp goes up again.

So I took her to the docs. Viral rash as suspected. But what's $20 for peace of mind?

I just didn't want to take her to Kellz place if she is likely to spread nasty germies. But we're good to go
