we are getting him a little bike for his birthday. it's so cool, has a handle for mum or dad to push him around with. although it sayd for 18months, we put him in one the other day and he loved it and cried when we got him out. mum has got him a ride on fireengine. She said it has three sirens, but the volume doesn't work. it is constantly on LOUD. Silly woman, we'll be living with her.

i got him some blocks from work the other day, what about duplo or do you think he's too young. it's REALLY cheap over here. about $60 for a HUGE bucket

Yep, and I agree with Janine about the Little People - Maya got some for her first and second xmases, and this Xmas I bought her the Little People Castle coz she still spends hours playing with them.
We always had the same 'stocking fillers' as kids - a book, a CD,a towel, some lollies, a piece of fruit (which amused my brothers no end lol) and some soap/bubblebath/gift set type thingie. Then we would get 1 'big' (ie. expensive) pressie from Santa, and one from Mum and Dad.

I've done the same with Maya the last two years (Hi5 Cd's lol) and will again this year. She loves that she has her own special 'towels'. Last xmas was great coz she was just starting to get into it, and she ran around telling everyone that Santa was bringing her a 'bubba' (Cabbage Patch doll) so this xmas will be even more fun!

yeah we are just gettinga few things for stocking fillers... paris is huge into polly pocket... i know it has a heap of small bits, but she's great, doesn't stick them i her mouth, and loves it.. so have found a few little sets for a few bucks that have i doll in each. will probably just get some hairties and lollies to stick in the stocking with them.

lol Emma, we are little people mad... got the zoo, zoo train, construction vehicles, school bus, busy town, race car, play mat, parading pals, few sets of xtra people, and for xmas she's got the gift set with minivan, tea party and trike, and the playground set..... as i said... i think i'm a bit obsessed... but hey, she spends hours playing with them, sets them all up round the lounge and loves them. And well, Ayja will get heaps of use outta them, and they get GREAT resale on trademe....

I tend to follow what paris likes and buy accordingly.

Ella's number one favourite thing is clothes pegs, the brightly coloured plastic ones (which you press to open). If you get him some of these, he'll have hours of fun with them (Ella's main use for them is to chew on lol). She also likes magnets so we got her some of the alphabet, just make sure that they are not too small :)

I'm going to get her a shape sorter and a ball... and books... and puzzles... mmmm... I can't wait to go shopping. I think I'm going to go a bit mad.

lol we do turn about with my sister... luckily this year she's coming to our place... although, have no idea how we'll all fit... it's a bit crazy at the best of times. but add in an xmas tree, and presents... and the girl's cubby house (which apparently we have to put up the night before according to mike, and inside as well! cos we have no yard) it's gonna be crazy!

we picked up one of our laybys the other day, not the big one with the cubby house but still, every time i open my wardrobe paris always manages to bound into the room - can't see her stuff, but keeps wanting to open her cousins things. keep having to tell her "no that's brittys" now my sis and her kids are coming to stay tomorrow, and i'm sure paris will tell britty i have presents in my wardrobe for her. lolol.

Angie was always really good for not opening xmas presents. We would put them under the tree ages before Christmas and she would never open them. Her face lit up when we moved though. We were putting the presents in our wardrobe (already wrapped) and she knew excatly what they were!

We have the same problem Trish! But since we know he won't mind we have decided to buy "him" a car seat for xmas as it is a big purchase. I think we will just get him something little and I am sure the family will take care of the rest anyway! Next year will be much more fun!!
Bailey is soooo cute by the way!

lol. Paris was 4 months at her first xmas. we got her rattles, blothes, and lots of FIRST things, stacking cups, blocks, things that are easily worked... just think and a couple of months after xmas they will be at the stage where they like to work things out... have toys that rewards their exploration. go to shops and look at the ages on them... fisher price has toys from birth - 3 mths, 3 - 6 months, 9 mths etc..

i bought jake some oshkosh clothes today from an outlet store.....two pairs of overalls and one t-shirt for $40!!! I'm so stocked. i'm also pretty sure the shop clerk made a mistake, but i didn't want to embarress her by letting her know.....out of the goodness of my heart.
i figure this year io can give jake clothes without him saying "yukky". so may as well make the most out of it.
we got jake a light thingy which shines pictures on the roof and plays music. He always liked it, but now he loves it. Leis found him in the bedroom, playing it by himself, and when he's sleepy, he'll actually try to climb into his cot and turn it on.
something like that, that will grow with babies i think is always good.
