| I will be dropping in on Maree sometime this week when she gives me the go ahead, seems she is OK and recovering slowly with the help of her hubby (at home for the week). Don't know any more about the leaving thing though - I suspect it is as Paws has mentioned, and she just feels it's her time to move on. |

I don't agree that it is rude - if someone (generic, not specific) wants to leave I don't think they are particularly obliged to tell us why, and at least they are being courteous enough to say that they *are* leaving - instead of just disappearing off into the sunset and no explanation at all.
I don't think there is anyone particularly 'in the know' in this case (I know I'm not), and that people don't always hang around websites / forums forever - I think it is highly likely that Maree feels that it is just time to move on. |

| maybe but i think if your going to take the time to say goodbye in the first place and if there is nothing specifically that has made you want to leave you might explain it a bit more. Like if I decided that i just didnt want to be on here anymore, didnt have time etc... I would say something along the lines of 'things are so busy for me at the moment so I wont be around anymore, good bye, all the best' etc.... rather than a cryptic comment that has everyone guessing. |

I guess I just find it strange as Maree has made a few comments in the past like we don't value her here... and we do! I just would hate for that to be the reason that she has gone I mean, if she's outgrown us, then sure! But if we've inadvertently made her feel horrible then I'd rather right the wrongs first IYKWIM?!

Well it's a forum and there are no "rules" as such on how to leave etc.... of course.... but I guess for a lot of us this place is our circle of friends (or one circle of them, for the lucky ones ). And if you were with friends IRL and were going to leave, you'd either bow out or say what was up - and I would find the latter to be more "friend-like" IYGWIM.

I hope Maree is ok too and that her leaving isn't because of something negative. She has been around for a while and I can understand people feeling miffed by the short goodbye when so much is shared on this forum and friendships have been made. |

Surely there is a middle ground though? Only said because I personally really enjoyed Maree's posts and am sad to see her go, I would have liked the chance to say goodbye.
Meh. Doesn't matter now she is gone though huh? And it's true, she is under no obligation to tell anyone why she is leaving and it's better than just never hearing from her again.
