I've been thinking for a while about whether or not to post this. But yesterday I found out more about just how bad this pharmacy is and decided I would. A couple of weeks ago, the chemist rang me just after I got home with a couple of prescriptions for Ella. Turned out they'd given me someone else's antibiotics (a different one and at a higher dose!). Thank God I hadn't just looked at the dosage and given them to her already. They sent someone over straight away to swap the bottles over. I didn't think at the time about the implications of how dangerous their mistake was - I was too tired to think straight that day. Then my MIL told me that they'd just been in the news locally, as that same pharmacy has sent TWO babies to the hospital after giving them someone else's drugs - a newborn was given an adult's anti-psychotics even!!! How they can screw up so many times is beyond me, especially when they make you wait at least 15 mins for the easiest of scripts to dispense, so that they can apparently do all of their 'checks' to make sure they have the right person. They also only ordered in half the amount of formula that was on Ella's prescription, said they'd call when the rest arrived, and never rang. Needless to say, I'm not using them again - they're useless and dangerous. And if anyone in Palmy wants to know who to avoid, PM me and I'll let you know which Pharmacy it is, because until they can get something as important as a child's prescription right, I don't think they're worth the risk.

The pharmacist is responsible for making sure the correct meds are going to the right people. He should not be allowed to work as a pharmacist. That is really bad!!

Yep. Maybe I should just run the risk of defamation and say I'll never use City Health next to the City Doctors on Vic Ave again!
... naughty Andie. People were gonna guess, regardless though, right? And it's not like I wasn't already happy to spread the word via PM's, anyway.

Well they shouldn't have made those mistakes if they didn't want word to get out!
And if you happen to see a Ginger Phamacist at the Chemist shop... 'tis my Uncle Al. (Hannah gets her hair from my daddio's side)

The doctors are good.
The chemist isn't so great. I tried to return crutches after DW's broken foot was healed and I said "I'm in a hurry, what do I need to do about these?" the lady kept mucking things up and didn't know how to do this and that, then called her superior over. She didn't know either. They had trouble with something and i finally said... "Look, I have to go. My cars running. I'll leave them here and you can deal with them." "what about your refund sir?" "I'll come back another time."
I never did. I guess they really don't understand the power of disgruntled customers.

... they get worse. I went to use Ella's Pamol that I'd got on prescription from them a few weeks ago. The dosage on it was wrong!!! Oh My Gosh that's rediculous. it was half the dose she should receive. Though to be fair, it could have been the weekend Doc's mistake too, who knows? Either way, that's far too many screw-ups.

And you're safe naming them Andie, Absolute Truth is a defence against defamation so as long as what you're saying is true, then it's not defamation.
Ah the murky world of media law.
And I agree that the pharmacy sounds shocking. They must have a regulatory body that supervises all pharmacies, someone should notify them coz that is dangerous, they should be shut down.

Hmmm, I think I'll look into making a complaint. I'll write into them first, since I'm not a fan of making one about someone before I've made it to them... and I'll let them know I'm sending a letter to whoever regulates them. MOH is all I can think of (and I do have a friend high up there too... hmmmm... ) but if anyone knows who is in the direct line of accountability here, I'd love to know so I can contact them with it instead of the MOH.
Anyways, Nikki's uncle is my lovely new pharmacist (thanks for the heads up, Nikki!) and they're GREAT there!

They are great there, that is where we used to go until our dr moved. With the Pamol it would probably be the dr, our dr stuffed up Andrew's a couple of weeks ago and so the next time I saw him he just did me another script with the right amount on it (preschool have to have the right amount on the bottle). So now I have 3 bottles of Pamol in the cupboard.
