I don't even know if you can get these in NZ, but I will be asking my GP, they are awesome. Mercedes has an ear infection and the doctor here prescribed her Amoxil but it comes it paediatric drops with a dropper and she only has to take 1ml per dose. It's much easier to see how much they've taken when it's such a small dose, and she doesn't seem to spit it out, and it comes with the dropper. Very impressed!

Yes Emma you can definately get them in NZ (pharmacy tech here) but for some reason they are hardly ever prescribed by doctors here.

Cool, I will definitely ask for them next time! Do you know if they are subsidised?

That sounds so cool!  Our Doc ended up advising us to just quit on Ella's recent antibiotics (Amoxil) because she fought every one of those 5ml tooth and nail and we barely got any in her anyway!  I'm soooo asking for those next time.

I wonder why they don't prescribe them more often then? They are soooo much less hassle!

I asked my GP - she said that when she prescribed them, they often found that the pharmacy didn't have any in stock, so they'd substitute with the normal Amoxyl.  We've found them easier though-  something about being able to shove that plastic dispenser in good'n'proper helped, though our little magician still managed to spit most of it out!

That is the one that Josh was given last weekend - we get the bad luck here as Josh is allergic to it

Yeah he had a heck of a reaction, eh.  Ella did react to this one but it was a blessing in disguise as she didn't get sick like wee Josh, it just fixed her chronic constipation issues for the week... fixed 'em good & proper!  Mwah ha ha haaaaaaaa

Haha funny, i'm taking amoxicillin at the moment for my infections, i've been told that it shouldn't be a problem for Josh.
