Okay, i am on the injection and have had breakthrough bleeding before. But tonight was really weird. I felt a bit...icky, so went to the loo. was bleeding and wiped, and got this huge clot of...somthing. looked like a hunk of liver, about the size of a cricle my thumb and forefinger made. Really gross, but serves you right for people reading this, i kept it. is this normal? please say yes. I'm a bit sore at the moment, well sorer than usual (usual is not ore at all)

Ewww! Ick! But here's a TMI question - did you keep it? Coz if so, I'd take it to the doc and get him/her to have a look at it coz it doesn't sound so flash. I passed a lump of tissue after I had the gremlins that was about the same size and it was part of the membranes that had been retained. I'd definitely get it checked!

I once passed something that size and it turned out to be a m/c. Since you kept it, go check it out! Put it in a specimen jar or something.

Passing one...i wouldn't know.
Keeping one? I would say no, thats not normal. But then i've just read that 3 other women kept theirs as well. So...that begs the question, are women normal?

Duh? I didn't read the bit where you said you kept it. Absolutely normal to keep it, in fact that was the first thing my m/w asked me when I rang her to tell her about it.

I don't think it's normal to keep them LOL. When I was asked if I kept mine, I said no I flushed it down the loo

Ah yes, the docs in Palmy are fairly well booked up. There's one who has been advertising in the free paper recently as taking on new clients (recently upped his hours I think) but I forget his name.

Go to the Palms that way you don't have to choose a dr but you have a dr (if you get what I mean). But I would be getting it checked out too.

make sure you keep it in fridge but label it so Hubby doesnt eat it - cause according to Chovy that would obviously be the last thing a man would think to find in his friddge!

I work as a nurse and if you wnat to check it out yoursef without go to a dr's, put it on a couple of paper towels and use something to squish it all around. If it basically dissolves then it is just blood, if you are left with bits that don't dissolves and kinda just sit there, then its likely to be something else.
Its entirely up to you tho, and which way you want to go as if it is a M/C, you are probably going naturally anyway.

Hey OT, but it looks like there's a new GP arrived at Amesbury Health Centre here in town... I can highly recommend signing up with them if they're taking new people - they're by far the best group I've found here. I love my GP!! She's awesome.
Hope it's nothing to worry about, Liz. Clots are 'normal' for completely random reasons... hope it's just one of those.

okay, still tmi but i figure it's your own fault for continuing to read - i had a squish and bits remain - lumpy bits. eeew, so gross. if I am m/c wqill be really annoyed as the injection was the form of contraception actually working...could it be bits left from Taine? i went on the injection pretty soon after having him - maybe it just stayed up there cause you don't have proper periods.....should really stop the wondering and go to the doctor instead....

Yes you should just stop wondering and go and get it checked out , I think do the thing Peanut said and if it is more than just blood ring.

Actually Liz, I vaguely remember on the injection that I had a similar thing. Really "old" blood when it finally did come... I figured it was just because I hadn't had a period for so long that it wasn't like a normal one.
So perhaps it's not a miscarriage at all.
P.S. Can recommend IUD.

It could be anything Liz, I wouldn't be surprised if it is something left-over from Taine. They can do a lab test so that you know for sure. Otherwise just write it off as inconsequential and leave it.
(btw If it is a m/c - which I doubt - you will experience the 'baby blues' at around day 4, the presence or otherwise should be an indication for you. Because you've already had kids you'll know what I'm talking about.)

Lizzle, It may be "left over" from your last baby but also depends on if you have been getting a period at all. Some on the injection don't so can make clots more common and even if you do you get light periods.
If there are bits left like you said, then I would ring a Dr, although to be honest there is not alot they can do. I imagine its either left over from Taine, or you are just ahving areally good clean out, esp if you have had no preg symptoms etc.
feel free to PM me.
