personal choice really - unfortunately there is no right and wrong with TT.

You could try and leave her or just suggesting she go every now and then.
It sounds to me thought that she is quite capable of letting you know when. I always made sure they tried before going out anywhere, even now i get the boys to check before leaving the house.

So ive put this in toodler times is well but:
