She basically said that if there is no fever then it isn't mastitis. So as the others have said it is likely to be engorement or 'leftover' pain. Try cabbage leaves in your bra, they are supposed to help, apparently you need to break the spin of the leaf

I've had mastitis a few times and there's always been a lump or hard patch and redness on the skin just before the headache, temp etc.

Just in case though make sure you fully empty out and if you do get a temp or any other symptom get yourself along to the doc to double check, mastitis hits really quick and is very unpleasant.

Anyway. I had a heck of a temperature, shakes etc, ended up at the emergency dept. I do remember a tender breast during the shakes, nausea etc.

Anyway not sure how much help I have been!!
Take care and try to keep feeding to keep the breasts clear, just in case it is.

Edited by schnooks

I have tender areas in both breasts, no lumps or hardening, but I do have a headache. Don't think I have a temperature.

Just wondered if this sounds like mastitis or whether my breasts are just tender from being slightly engorged this morning and it'll just pass??

Any input would be very appreciated!
