I can't offer any advice other than to ring your midwife or healthline and ask their advice.

Ooo sounds like a show! Not that I can speak from personal experience though!

I think someone on here maybe RachandJack had her show a couple of weeks before anything eventuated? I could be wrong (sorry if this is wrong).

Good luck and keep us posted!!

It's worth getting checked, could be early labour and you want bubs to stick in there a little while yet (though it will be fine if he comes now, just will need a little more support).

Good luck, hope you have called the MW.

It doesn't sound like anything to be worried about

Well that's unless you don't want your bubs to be born early

It sounds like you have had a show and are 3cm dilated

Well i rung the MW and she quized me a fair bit and wanted me to come in for a check up but as it is 40 minutes away i asked what she really thought it is and she said that it doesnt seem like enough to be a show (it was only about a 10cnt size ammount and she thought that it was possibly just an irritation of the cervix..she asked if i had had sex in the last 24 hours which i had a good laugh at and so did she considering my husband is more cripple than i am right now! lol so NO!...anyway she said to keep an eye on it and if there was more within an hour then to go straight in otherwise she will ring tonight to see how things are and come and see me if i need her to.
I didnt tell her about checking my cervix incase she growled me for not keeping my fingers out! but i am very curious to know why it is so open!!!???

I havnt had any contractions that i have noted lately..i had severe back pain for the past few days but figured that i had just pulled a muscle while bathing Bay and it seems to be getting better! plus i cant tell because i have been getting cramps in my lower tummy for the past week and have put it down to the pelvic displasia as it only hurts at night in conjuction with my pelvis pain.
Iv been having a lot of tightening but figure it is just BH.
Iv also had alot of pressure down there!! and he definately feels like hes dropped down!
To be honest im not too worried if he comes early now because MW says he is far enough along to do perfectly well and he is a big boy as it is anyway but i would like him to stay in for another 2 weeksish!!

I got a huge growling from DH after i had spoken to the MW as she rung me on his cell phone instead of mine so he was wondering what it was about!!..hes just been freaking out about everything lately so i thought i wouldnt tell him unless i had to go in whoopsy!!

Hmmm. to be honest, back pain, cramping and BH together sounds like contractions to me - just ones that you don't really notice! Of course I am going on experiences of others here that I have heard or read. Just check with Dh that he is happy to help you birth at home if you aren't gonna be checked! lol!

LOL! miss DH can barely look after himself at the moment!! cos he cut his thumb and half his hand off with a skillsaw last saturday!!! so i cant see him being much help!!

Haleighsmum - DH is doing alot better than when he first did it! he has to go for a check on tuesday and to get the cast changed cos the swelling has gone down so now it hurts when the cast shifts and slides around!! hehe yup im supprised i can still reach my cervix but i just reach around my big bump! and im a flezy lexy! lol

I got in trouble at the begining of my pregnancy from MW for not keeping my fingers out whenever i would freak out with a cramp! (was just checking!) and iv managed to keep them out of that region until now when i saw the blood and freaked!! but im sure shel growl me again!

heres another question - If i was really in labour then wouldnt Astin stop moving!!???? I think i read somewhere that babies become very still and calm when you go into labour and leading up to it but Astin is still moving around! not as much as usual but i figure that he is kinda running out of room in there so that was why???.....

Posted By: peanut butter
Date Posted: 05 June 2007 at 6:04pm
I'm also impressed about reaching your cervix but cant say I have tried....maybe it always feels like that? Especially after having a bubs already? Just guessing here as I have NO idea. hehehe, cant wait till you have to fess up to that one.

Posted By: BaAsKa
Date Posted: 05 June 2007 at 6:12pm
lol! i guess i may have to fess up to MW! lol but not looking forward to it on top of being totally embarrassed to tell her!!

I dont think it was from having had a bubs before because when i checked it at the begining of pregnancy it was tightly shut! (sorry way TMI!! ). I kinda know my cervix well after using it for charting when trying for a bubs!

Hmmm as curious as you are (and I would be also), try to not irritate up there at least for another week, okay?

Often the first 1-2cm do themselves without contractions for babies after #1, so it could just be that, but we may never know lol.

If you get any contractions this week, and you're 40 minutes away from hospital, leave immediately! There is a chance that it was a show and a semi-open cervix. Oh and the baby settling before labour? I had that twice, about 3 days before labour, both times I was a bit worried because I got hardly any movements in a day.

Not trying to worry you, Amber, but Xavier didn't stop wriggling until I was in active labour and he was being squeezed by almost continous contractions! And then he stopped a couple of millimeters from crowning and didn't come down the last bit for 30 minutes... I was not impressed.

Well my MW rung and said that she wants to see me first thing in the morning so im making a trip over after Bay goes to school. She wanted me to come in tonight but im a stubborn arse! and dont really want to be making the trip with my toddler and handless hubby! lol i figure that Astin is ok and MW isnt too concerned otherwise i would rush over! but hes still moving about...he has the hiccups right now! ... She said as long as hes moving and im not having contractions or any more bleeding then we will be fine till the morning!.
The only thing im worried about is if he stops moving and theres something wrong with him but for now he seems fine....i know i know!! im stubborn!! i just think i maybe have over reacted!! and its simply just BH plus pelvic pain plus an irritated cervix plus its probably slightly open from Bay as someone had mentioned

hehe monique! nop i have a HUGE!! bump!! i must just have long arms!! and i seem to be able to contort down far to reach! lol

Hhhhmmmm this reminds me of something my MW said last week! - i said something about getting an epidural and she said "well thats if you have time for 1!" to which i said "WHAT!!??? what do you mean??!!" and she said "well i have a feeling from your history and the way your pelvis is and the way bubs is that he may just fly out!"...AAARRRGGGHHHH!!! WTF!!! i hope not!!

yeah all the stories iv heard of fast births have resulted in mummy going into shock plus i have to travel to hospital! plus i hear that fast births tend to be more painful and intense!!! ...eekk!!! i just want another 1 like Bay - 8 hours from induction to baby in arms and epidural through the majority of it!

Posted By: MyMinis

man i wouldnt mind this baby to fly out lol.
8hrs is fast to me hehe. my mw reacons that second time round its faster, so said mine could be halved, oh do i hope thats true lol.

HI! well it seems that Astin does indeed want to make an early apearance!! I had contractions last night for half the night and am 2 cms dialated and have protein and blood in my urine but MW and specialist dont want to stop him from comming so im home now and if it stops then thats good and if it carries on then we at least know that he is fine thanks to having been monitored all morning!! but my MW still wants me to go in if my contractions start up again!
Aparently this is a result of post traumatic stress from DHs accident last saturday which is when all my probs started.
She said that he is a very big boy and seems to be a few weeks ahead of my dates anyway so if anything he just may need a little boost to breath when hes born....SO NOW WE SIT AND WAIT! lol

It could stop altogether anyway and i may end up going overdue! lol

Date Posted: 06 June 2007 at 2:05pm
OH and i fessed up to MW about doing a cervix check! lol at first she laughed and then she growled! lol and told me to keep my fingers out now as too much fingering may cause him to come real fast! and we kinda dont want to help things along! lol

Just seem to be getting little niggles every so often and didnt really get any when i was being monitored so they are pretty irregular!.
Last night they were quite sore and i remember laying there thinking about how they so reminded me of when i was having Bailey and that i kinda just decided that i dont want to do it again! lol....TO LATE!!!...im loving the man/woman who invented the epidural!! that eased my worry! lol

Hi ladies!
Still nothing here just cramps all day yesterday..and i say cramps cos they were no where near as stong as the contractions i had the other day but other than that nothing much to report!. Im now on crutches for my pelvic displacier thingy too.

hehe mybelly - my MW went to leave the room for a sec the other day when i was getting monitored and it was just me and DH and she said "Can i trust you both to behave yourselves while im gone!!?" lol

Catrad - my MW is in Whakatane her name is Sue Finch.

I think im just going to be in limbo for a while now just having random pains and not much else!!
Hes moved down heaps more now! and its sooooooooo uncomfortable to walk and sit cos it feels like hes right there! (sorry TMI!!)

Anyway if anything happens then KELLZ will throw up a post for Astin with some piccys or keep you all posted in here if everything is taking ages

yeah crutches so i dont put any pressure on my pelvis cos its apparently pretty severe!!??

I certainly dont want to be going home without Astin

hehe i do love my MW shes really hard to get over here cos everyone wants her and i only just got in!! she was only taking on one more lady for the year and only had a spot in july!

I havnt had any pains today except for this extremely uncomfortable movement that Astin is doing!! not sure whats going on and its real hard to describe!? but its sooooooo uncomfortable!!!!!

I had the same sort of thing with Jack, had a show at 35 weeks with some cramping and bled for about a week. Nothing came of it and Jack was born one day early so it might not mean nothing at all. My midwife never told me not to have special cuddles I think she even encouraged it.

I never got checked at 35 weeks but at 38.5 I was already 1-2cm dilated and 75% effaced.

Good luck

yeah i just have a feeling that hes just going to make me suffer for the next few weeks! lol

hehe Emma i have been naughty though and havnt really used the crutches! just all the body stockings and straps! i kind of need the crutches the most in the middle of the night for toilet trips but i find it more of a struggle trying to sort them out half a sleep so just end up flagging them!

Im apparently 2 cms dialated already (plus i can vouch for that with my wandering fingers! lol ) but my MW said that i can possibly stay like that for a few weeks yet!!

I went for a walk this afternoon and man did that bring on some uncomfortable cramps!!! i almost had to stop!! but i didnt!!
