Topic: EPO Posted: 18 August 2010 at 4:16pm |
Hi,
I was just wondering if you did the EPO (orally and vaginally) and how long after you started did you go into labour.
I know everyone is different and what works for one may not work for others but was just wondering what worked for you.
So how many did you take??
From what stage in pregnancy??
And when did you go into labour??
Thanks.

I did 2 up, 2 down from 36 weeks onwards. My boy arrived at 39 weeks.
I'm not sure if the EPO had much to do with it but I had a very efficient 2 hour labour with no tears.
Will be doing the same this time.

I did 2 up & 2 down also from 36 weeks.
I went into labour at 40+2 weeks, had a very long labour and an episiotomy so i guess it didnt really do much for me.
I though you took then to help ripen your cervix rather than to put you into labour.

Evening Primrose Oil
I did 4 up, 2 down I think when I was due as #1 was ready to go but my cervix wasn't ripening. it was 2-3 days and bam cervix went from completely closed and 'this baby isn't coming anytime soon' from the m/w, to holding him in my arms.
It your stage I'd do 2 up, 2 down.

I did 3 a day orally and none down, and also took 5W from 35weeks and had a good delivery with an episotomy (due to distress) at 39 weeks.

I used 3 up 1 down from 38W, and was induced cause of high BP. However I was alrdy 1 cm dilated and medium soft so it may have done something who knows. I had a 3 hour natural (only had gel) labour.

I tried the EPO, but as you know, Caden was still very late lol.
From what I know, EPO wont help you go into labour if your body isnt ready, it just helps soften the cervix ready for labour.
